The Game Boy Contra, I put this off back in the day due to this one only having 9 Lives Code instead of 30, luckily there is a rom hack to fix that issue and with that I played and quite enjoyed it, it's short but hey it's a Game Boy game and I don't enjoy many original GB games but this one is really fun and have all the signature beauty of console Contra. This is the last game I played to finally complete all classic Contras, atleast the ones I find worthwhile.

Did you know at one point Contra III was gonna be called Super Contra IV? Acknowledging this one as Contra 3 but didn't happen fsr, maybe they thought title was too similar to Castlevania 4? You're still number 3 in my heart, Operation C!...and I guess that makes Contra III Contra IV and Contra 4 would be Contra 5 lol

BEAUTIFUL SEQUEL TO THE BEAUTIFUL GAME, much like Terminator 1 and 2, Contra and Super Contra stand on their own. beautiful fast paced BUT MORE. Much like Contra, Arcade version pales in comparison to me.

30 Lives Code used! I played on Japanese version cuz of that.

ITS FUCKING CONTRA, beautiful fast paced action classic, Arcade pales in comparison to me lol. Also I highly recommend playing the english patched Famicom version as it actually adds short cutscenes with story.

30 Lives Code used, not ashamed of that!

Beautiful and faithful remake of Metroid 2 and I appreciate it's in a GBA style, Samus Returns gave me quite the whiplash going from ZM and it just feels empty....I prefer this one over that any day. Much like Metroid 1 NES, I can't really get into Metroid 2 GB so this is the way for me. That being said, this game is beautiful, atmosphere, the creatures, the addition of an enemy viewer and lore collection is very nice too. As far as fan games go, this is one of the legendary ones

Beautiful remake of the original and satisfies my definition of a remake (faithfully has everything the original did and adds even more), I love the comic book style graphics they utilized in the backgrounds and cutscenes. Very fun but out of the GBA Metroids my fav is Fusion. I can't really get into the NES one so this is the way to play Metroid 1 for me.

Went for 100% Items.

One of my favorite games of all time, everything Metroid just hits right for me with this one, the atmosphere, how things come together, the powers, SA-X itself, the story, I just love it all. I love GBA and how the games feel on it a lot already but this takes the cake.
Also try playing the Japanese version with the English or one of the PAL translations ported over, since that version has more bugfixes, Hard Mode and more ending images, making it the definitve version of the game.

Went for 100% Items.

I looooove this game. Protip, as typical for this series, English dub (as cool as it sometimes is) doesn't do the game justice, using the Re-translation mod with Japanese voices makes it a lot better (I recommend the same mod for SA1, SA2, now 06 and Sonic Battle). I also got More Reasonable Missions to help me out and that also improves it. Anyway, I like the guns too, they're fun even if you don't think to use em much cuz this is a Sonic game, but the vehicles are pointless (06 does them a lot better tho, too bad this gameplay formula died pretty quick). I also really like the story and the connections to SA2 and finally Shadow moving on, well depending on the ending. Ah the endings, that's the part where even I can't defend, why 10 endings? I really wish they only gave us 5 and get rid of the ones where you make a heel turn at the last second (which are just asset reusal garbage anyway), getting the last heel turn endings was where the game stupidly dragged for me but that Last Story was good shit atleast. Oh and, think this game is silly? Well embrace the silly! Embrace the fun! Peace!

I actually love this game, it's quite a unique specimen, perhaps thats because I went into it knowingly years after its release but hey here we are, I still used as many fixes I could through the Mod Manager for Xenia though. I do love this game also cuz I see the potential it had and frankly in many areas it has a lot more soul than the corporate too afraid to accidentally get epic current Sonic now. This game sadly being the cause of that trauma for Sega. Oh well...In terms of campaigns, Sonic campaign has bad story and good gameplay, Shadow campaign has good story and good gameplay (my favorite of all the ones), Silver Story has bad story and bad gameplay. Team Attack Amigo was also so broken, I especially love when they expect Omega to do the kinda shit Sonic can do. Either way, this is one unique specimen of a game and for that alone I love it.

One of my favorite games of all time, the style, the music, the characters, Cube, it's all there babyyyyyyyyy, I had a blast with this game and this specific blast was only recaptured with BRC this year, JSR came close tho, I also appreciate the simplified graffiti system and yes game is piss easy but I find that comforting personally

This is a game that took a long time for me to be able to get into (atleast since 2017), I even ended up going for, beating and enjoying JSRF a lot more, I wrote this game off as too clunky for me to enjoy and Graffiti system a nightmare on the PC port but eventually through the convincing and support of a friend I finally gave it another chance and beat it in 2021 and I have to say I quite enjoyed it, I'm still more for JSRF but this is a damn good stylish game.

I love this game, a breath of fresh air among mediocre modern AAA tiles, gave me the same magic I felt when I first played JSRF back in 2019
