It's a shame so much of the discussion surrounding this game is how it might connect to the mainline Trails series. This game is a gem in its own right.

This game nearly gaslit me into thinking cs4 was good.

Really impressive romhack all things considered. Theres tons of custom items enemies and mechanics, but it all kind of buckles under its own weight. Theres so many powerups that some either feel redundant or underutilized. Theres also a lot of bugs I encountered. Levels also have a huge difficulty spike about halfway through. The later challenges often feel like they don't take Mario 64's inherent jank into consideration and ask you to do some precise maneuvers that can be challenging to most players. Overall, its very impressive, but it feels like they prioritized stuff that looks cool on paper over stuff that was actually fun.

Pretty good showcase for the deck's features. It's also a nice return to the portal universe.

This game single-handedly made me hate the ps moves

I remember when they announced it and then played it and was like "Thats it?" It also kinda just showed up on my wii u.

Everything everyone says about this game is absolutely true and not even an exaggeration. The story is a complete mess. The ganeplay is linear with none of your progress feeling like your own. The game goes out of its way to make it feel like you have zero agency in anything. The combat could be decent if they didn't use the most backwards control scheme possible.

Also Anthony is the only decent character

Best part is using the questions posed by your friends to roast the shit out of them. My friend's mii asked who he reminded me of and I told him Shaggy from Scooby Doo.

This game is definitely a slow burn. The slow pace didn't bother me too much because the game does a really good job at building intrigue and getting you to like its characters. By the time the story kicks into full gear (which is like halfway through the game) it feels like it was worth the buildup. The game was still absolutely planting seeds for future games, so it can feel a but frontloaded with setup. I felt the ending was quite satisfying, and then the game hit me with a twist ending that genuinely hooked me for future games.
Gameplay wise this is like a turn based rpg crossed with an srpg. Battles play out in a grid and positioning affects what enemies you cam hit, who you can heal, etc. The combat can be a bit slow, but it is very satisfying.

Overall a great start for this franchise.

My favorite trails game overall. The game takes what FC left off on and delivers an adventure that makes the buildup of FC completely worth it. This and the previous game made me feel a very strong attachment to these characters. There are plenty of emotional high points that really make this memorable. Some of the villains fell a little flat for me, but everything else more than makes up for it.

The game does make changes but ultimately the gameplay is mostly the same as the previous game. This is fine by me as I do really enjoy the gameplay here.

Banger game

An excellent sendoff for the Sky trilogy. The story is very different as it focuses more on character growth than anything. There are many optional scenes you can unlock through doors that present a lot of worldbuilding and backstory for the series. The story is strong enough here that it is easily my favorite story in the series and in my top 3 trails games in general.

I have issues with the structure of this game however. The dungeon crawler gameplay is a fine concept, but I hate how every other floor is a recycled map in some capacity from the other two games.

Despite my gripes with the gameplay, this is still among my favorite in the series.
