A masterclass in storytelling, bringing so much to the MGS lore, managing to stay consistent with the themes of previous games, while implemneting a new perspective on the story as a whole. Gameplay wise, it's fairly different from the other entries, to the point where i don't think it makes the older games feel outdated, but rather, makes this one feel surprinsingly modern and smooth. At this point, MGS is easily one of my favorite video game franchises of all time.

An incredible work on how the democratization of information, can also mean that, through the same means we can make it accessible, we can also share disinformation. Through media, it is possible, for those with money and power, to control the public opinion, regarding any topic, even politics.

The gameplay is a huge improvement from the first game, and the boss fights are now hard, but rewarding, no longer feeling like you're being punished for even the slightest mistakes, that are sometimes, not even your fault. The caracters are engaging, and Raiden fits very well into the memes and themes of the series. A masterpiece all around, a must play.

Somehow, a game from 1998 still feels great to play, and very high quality in it's gameplay, music, and especially voice acting. Also, the boss fights are very difficult and rewarding.
