Really interesting battle mechanics for a tactics game. However, it gets pretty grind-ey. I think it would have benefitted from less optional content and a more structured main campaign.

Also the art direction and stuff is very horny. Made me embarrassed to be seen playing it.

Game play itself is meh, but the setting and storytelling really go a long way. Does not overstay it’s welcome

I really loved the art design - a beautiful blend of pixel art and low poly 3d. It evokes my favorite vibes-heavy ps1 games while playing smoother than almost any of them.

The most interesting port of one of the greatest games of all times. If only there had been a lot more 3ds mgs games.

short and sweet. One of the best looking gb games but not much to offer gameplay-wise

I didn’t play this back in the day when it first released, this is my first time. I thought it was a really great game. It was a little easy and grind-ey, the pacing fell off in the back half of the game, and the combat is fairly braindead. This is holding it back from 5 stars. It’s a great story, excellent piece of software, but the gameplay falls a little flat. Atlus continues to nail the visual and sound design.

Played the fan translation on MiSTer's PSX core.

I've been putting this game off for a while because I thought it would be too long and boring. I was wrong. The first few hours are a little slow, but after that the pacing was very good. Sometimes random encounters get tiresome, but as far as JRPG's go, this one is a breeze.

Story is great, music has some great tracks and the character models and pre-rendered backgrounds are charming. Easily one of the best on PSX.

I feel like I'm missing something. It's randomly very hard for no reason and I don't get if there's some big goal I should be building toward between missions.

The only persona game I played before was Persona 4. I picked this one up because I like tactics games and revolutionary themes. The story and production were good enough to keep me hooked for the first 20 or so hours, but the game really drags on. It's way too easy - I was playing on hard and had no problems and the dialogue is soooo padded out. Eventually the gameplay and story becomes tedious.

Very solid metroidvania, just missing some of the flair from symphony of the night. On the bright side, you can get the good ending pretty easily without looking at a guide, so I might recommend it more highly to a newcomer.

2016

Very good shooting, platforming kinda ruins things
