Brilliant concept, but 2-3 hours is just too long to repeat the same mechanic over and over again. 1 hour would have made this a perfect game.

Tunic is such a special experience. My game of the year for sure and one of my favorite games in a very long time. Every aspect of this game was so well executed.
@dicey truly made something special with this one!

The art style is of course immaculate and unlike anything else out there. I feel like every frame of the game could genuinely be a wallpaper. Also, the world is just?? So freaking large and full of secrets around every corner. Exploration is so rewarding.

Speaking of rewarding, solving the puzzles behind many of the secrets of the world is possibly the most rewarding puzzle-solving in any game I’ve ever played. The epiphany of the answer to the final puzzle of the game was such a euphoric experience.

Like any great ‘zelda-like’ game, the item progression tree of the game is superbly done. It’s not overwhelming or overloaded but just present enough to give you with multiple different ways of fighting enemies. Combat is so satisfying as well.

Enemies get easier as you get better equipment and level up your stats while still providing you with harder enemies as you progress through the world. The souls-like bosses in the game are probably where I had the most trouble. The contrast in difficulty of them versus the regular enemies was pretty jarring at first as someone who is very bad at combat in games. However, I think it added a nice contrast to the game making those moments have more weight despite how much I might have raged at them 😅

Overall, #Tunic is freaking incredible and everyone should try it. Especially if you are into The Legend of Zelda or similar games. After waiting for this game since E3 2018, it brings me so much joy to say it was so worth the wait and then some. 😁🙏
Thank you @dicey @FinjiCo for giving me my 2022 game of the year.

This game had a really awesome vibe to it. I just feel as if it went on too long. Average playtimes are about 5-6 hours, I could only get through about 3 hours before feeling an overwhelming sense of how repetitive the gameplay loop is.

2022

Beautiful and unforgettable art style and world-building. Great story as well as awesome characters. Really wish it was longer though. Was only about 4.5 hours, would have loved 6-8 imo

One of my favorite games of the year, easily.

Finished #CultoftheLamb last night. As someone who generally isn’t a fan of rogue-like elements in games, this one is definitely different. And the cute but demonic art style and vibe takes it to the next level😅
Genuinely an incredible game and easily one of my favorite games of the year. I’m so happy I gave this game a chance.

I'm so angry it took me all this time to play this masterpiece.

I finished one of my most anticipated indies of the year a few days ago, and what an amazing experience it was.

This game has so much charm, such a thought-provoking story, and fantastic gameplay.

Calling this game a ‘Portal-like’ doesn’t do it justice in my opinion. It really expands on that idea and adds so much of a cohesive story around it including lots of lore to be missed within the world itself if you’re not looking hard enough; It reminds me a lot of Control in that way.

The characters are relatable and super charming, the sound design and score are great, the visuals are immaculate as well.

It’s so impressive that the entire game was made by essentially one person!

At times I did feel as if there were a few too many puzzles. Yes it’s a puzzle game, but I feel they had something really special with the few action sequences in the game between the movement and rewind systems and wish they used it more!

Overall I had an incredible time with The Entropy Centre. One of my personal games of the year and really think it’s worth checking out for anyone into solo adventure or puzzle games.

I can’t wait to see what @Stubby_Games does next 🙌

This one really stings honestly...

So I gave it a 4/5 because I genuinely feel like it may be one of, if not the greatest remaster ever made. With that being said, I thought I was going to adore this game after seeing all the remastered elements of it and liking Final Fantasy VII Remake enough to follow the story forward... But I honestly hated it and I played it too long to refund it :(

Everything about it is awesome, the visuals, the gameplay, the corny script, the voice actors from Remake... But when all of those things were put together, it just felt like such a disjointed mess and may have been the most horribly paced video game experience I've ever had. This is mostly simply because despite everything being VERY overhauled from the ground up, the core loop and pacing is identical to the original.

I'm happy fans of the original got such an awesome remaster, but I personally unfortunately just can't push myself to play through it.

A massive modded replay of one of my favorite RPGs of all time. Can't recommend this game enough!

EDIT: 100+ hours later, I had a fantastic time with this. Already one of my favorite games of all time but yeah this was an awesome experience. Hardly cracked the surface of all the modded content and I only got about half way through the main story but got busy and had to put the game down. Still had an incredible time with the gameplay, progression, and immersion and couldn’t be happier.

Played the original release of Skyrim multiple times back in the day. Time to do a massive modded playthrough of it!

EDIT: 120+ hours later, one of the greatest gaming experience I’ve ever had. I didn’t even come close to scratching the surface of all the content I had in store with the mods, nor did I finish the story. But I had such an incredible time with the immersion, gameplay, and progression that I was just obsessed.

I have no way to track the time I've played officially, but I estimate its easily about 6000+

My favorite game of all time and the game that got me through a lot of my life. I still return back once or twice a year to put another 100-200 hours into my world and never get tired of it. This is the game that I will be playing for the rest of my life and I couldn't be happier.

This game really is a full package honestly. Satisfying automation, wholesome vibes with the art direction and score, a nice little story, and all under the guise of fun VR mechanics.

The puzzles were challenging enough, some were very daunting but ultimately very solvable and satisfying once you completed them.

There’s definitely some room for completionists here too with some of the challenges which were quite fun but start getting exceedingly difficult towards the end.

My only main issue the game had (which only became noticeable towards the last couple of levels) was how inconsistent some of your recordings could act with the physics of the objects in the game. Overall this wasn’t a massive issue but it led to some frustration on a couple of occasions.

Overall a genuinely great game and this studio deserves a lot of praise and support for whatever they decide to do next. One of my favorite games of 2022 now.

I was really looking forward to this game for a long time. Ever since it was first announced back in 2021.

Overall it was a good experience and I think it did what it set out to do. Though I will say it’s not perfect.

I encountered bugs on multiple occasions that completely halted progression requiring me to restart sections of levels multiple times (or even just back out to the main menu and then go back in).

Another issue: while I feel the majority of the game did a great job with this, the final level really confused me. There were multiple mechanics that just didn’t work the same way as they did in the rest of the game and multiple new mechanics it just didn’t bother to explain. Ultimately this lead to a really bitter ending after getting pretty frustrated by this.

Overall I enjoyed my experience but at the price of $25, it’s hard to justify. I was definitely let down by the short (4-6 hours) of playtime (though if you’re a completionist there is definitely multiple more hours of content for you). I also had some fairly annoying bugs and just general other grievances. I will say, I do love that a portion of the Steam sales (at least at launch) go to a wildlife fund which is awesome and so on brand for this game.

Just as everyone else has said — RE4 Remake is simply one of the greatest games of all time, even better. What a god damn good game from start to ending. Perfect pacing, perfect combat, such lovable characters, and such fun camp. Genuinely scary too!

This was my second attempt to play through Skyward Sword HD (first time I got about 80% through, this time about half way.) Despite being a massive LoZ fan (that never got the chance to play SS original) I genuinely can’t stand to finish this game. The combat is just so frustratingly not fun with the janky joystick config in the remaster. I adore the lore, the story, the art direction, world/map, music, EVERYTHING ELSE IS PERFECT. But the combat is just such a massive turn off. It’s very very cool in concept but in practice it’s just awful. Motion controls seem slightly more acceptable but with either option still it feels like 30% of the time your swings are just ignored or worse — they are misinterpreted for swinging the opposite direction. At first I felt like I could get past it but as I fought larger groups of enemies and harder bosses, it became clear that this play through was just going to be more of a point of frustration than any fun. I guess I’ll just never play through Skyward Sword unless a modder or Nintendo decide to remake or update it to be better.
