I never really consider it being a super-set of Platinums ideas, I hadnt registered more than Viewtiful or Bayonetta influences so thats a cool perspective.

Its sad tho cuz W101 represents the beginning of everything I dislike about Platinum: incredibly unfocused "everything-but-the-kitchen-sink" game design, where everything takes backseat to novelty. Of course, historically Platinum games has always been all over the place but I guess they really made their name making the only other competent franchise in the Devil May Cry style combo slash'em ups and it was a rude awakening to deviate more and more from that.
