Loved that they decided to take out the overworld and just have a timeline to select the fights. Character switch mid battle was a great addition. Boss battles were fantastic and a lot of variety in the styles too. I felt like this was the hardest game to S rank on lol.

Once again refining the gameplay. Chakra dash cancels and substitution bar were A+ additions. I think they added Legend vs Hero paths in this one and that was cool, but I did Hero for the platinum lol.

Probably the best story mode of the 4 games, definitely covers the best arcs. The gameplay is better than 1, and the boss fights are excellent. My favourite thing about the boss fights is that they expanded on the anime fights rather than copy them exactly, and it was always better for it.

Not a huge fan of the overworld here, it's mostly busywork.

The overworld is really interesting, I'm glad at least one of the 4 games were like this. If it was filled with more to do, that would have been even better, but I understand there were probably all sorts of limitations back then.

Gameplay is enjoyable, but it kept getting refined in the sequels, so this one feels a bit rough around the edges. The button prompt during the Ultimate Jutsus carry over from the previous Ultimate Ninja series and it was fine here, but glad they dropped in the sequels.

My biggest gripe is no cutscenes for the story mode. It's basically just reading on screen text.

I hear this game is actually really technical, but I'm shit so I just mashed buttons.

More refined than Digimon World. Got a bit tiresome by the end, though.

I liked the story of this one a little more than Dawn/Dusk but the gameplay was also a bit worse.

Might be the poster boy for 2.5 star games.

This game couldn't even hit 30fps properly on console.

I got about half way. One thing I liked was the protagonist is black.

I liked the create your own character mode and the one that showed off famous fights. But the game is so canned compared to the real thing. No duh, I know, but I played this game before watching any sort of real UFC and I was blown away by how free flowing the actual sport is.

Campaign was as good as Infinite Warfare's.

Played this solo, felt more like doing a chore than playing a video game. It has a very repetitive gameplay loop that isn't very fun, imo.

Choosing between classes when you upgraded was a swell idea, but I feel like most times there was one choice that was better than the other. Also easier than the Blazing Blade. Still had a great time.

So disappointed with this. As a concept, it's 10/10, but it is so boring to play. The actual matches are terrible, luck based, and slow, and the drama parts are mostly repetitive. An 18 week campaign is just much too long.
