I don’t know if it’s because it lacks that „wow” effect from playing the first game for the first time, but it just doesn’t feel that exciting. Levels don’t seem to have that variety the first one has.
There are still great ideas in here that make this game worthwhile, but you won’t see yourself going from quiet lodge in snowy forest and luxurious train ride, to tight submarine and freaking space.

There was this moment while I was playing the game, when I felt like yes, this is it, this is how I end the time loop, this is how I win, I’m a genius. And then it restarts again and our hero is like „How? I did everything right!” and I’m like „EXACTLY, HOW THE HELL IT DIDN’T WORK?! DAAMN”. It was a powerful gamer moment, that’s all I’m saying.

Well yes of course I’ll take Subnautica in space, thank you.
It doesn’t have that mystery and horror behind it which made Subnautica great, but it has it’s own charm made mostly from sharp humor and being meta. And to be fair, the survival game mechanics are only like half of the game, the rest is much more linear and story based I quess, which was also cool and refreshing.

It has it’s problems, but having Kiryu run an orphanage is pretty damn epic and I absolutely loved everything about that fact. I really do not like little kids (in like reality I mean) but I almost cried when Kiryu encouraged one of his girls to apologize to other.
Only in Yakuza something like that can wet my eyes and I love this series for shit like this.

Better than the first Kiwami even thoug it still has some „buts”. New engine makes Kamurocho and Osaka look amazing even tho it feels like combat lost a little of that special something, story is better with really nice romantic relationship as one of the main driving force, but the ending still feels a little too crowded with twists and turns every 10 seconds. Overall a really good game, I’m in love with this series at this point.

The story can really drag the whole experience down sometimes (which is really annoying for me after 0) with missed opportunities, over-complicating things with meanigless twists and characters etc.
But it’s still Yakuza, it still has fun mini-games, substories, satisfying combat system (though it can suffer a lot in Kiwami because of particular levels and bosses) and great direction. A big step down for me after playing 0, but not that big to not enjoy it overall

It has one of the most beautiful looking world I’ve seen in video games and a cute, fairy tale like apocalypse vibes, but there is just something lacking. Engagement is the word I think. In almost every aspect of this game. Combat, exploration, story…
It’s not a bad game overall, but it’s not very good either. It’s decent, which makes it a little disappointing for me because I’ve waited a really long time for this game, hoping for something great.
