IMHO it's clunky as hell and very overhyped. It's just a boss rush with an expose at the end that made no sense. But ngl the idea of fighting tall godlike beings was pretty cool

The final form of the musou based on existing franchises, in which their always escalating efforts in translating mechanics from other series to the this genre straight up reached the point of simulating an entire game.

This genuine sequel to Persona 5 does not exactly retain all of the systemic level interactions from the RPG, but always tries to reproduce its intent, mostly in a more scripted way, while the presentation does the rest of heavy lifting. The most palpable differences are in the fights, where they hid all the musou bits, but even in this less graceful aproach to combat the game cleverly captures the feel and distinct motions of Persona battles.

All of that to serve the bigger purpose of giving you more time with these lovely, lovely characters. To have many group meals, cheerfully play on the beach, travel across the country in a cozy van and confront how in the interconnected age our fear of living unfulfilled lives can lead to outsourcing our happiness to apparently successful figures that are just as broken as any of us and wield that validation as an unhealthy shield against their own traumas. Just as freinds do.

There are plenty of good puzzle games out there, but with interesting characters and narrative, not so much, and Call of The Sea is one of them, the puzzles are intriguing, the crew is interesting, and the narrative is actually very well done, as well as astonishing visuals, it's the whole package.

Jogos como Chrono Trigger, Prince of Persia e Shadow of the Colossus integram este panteão.

First of all, the fact that this game is made by one person is impressive, the amount of work put into this is truly amazing.
The gameplay is great, the progression with the guns and tools fells good throughout the whole game, you can go back to prior areas and explore again like any metroidvania. In special i want to highlight the eletric wrench, it makes go through enviroments SO much better.
The downside is that the Perks system is kinda irrelevant, you don't have much reason to get more materials since you'll be ending up using only one perk.
The most surprsing for me was how deep the narrative went, how well thought were the caracters. They even had interesting critics about what can happen when people make lies about god entities just to pray on others, but in the end it goes TOO deep and gets confusing , also too many boss fights, fortuntelly there is a relaxed mode to blast through them.

In short : a great metroidvania with unique narrative for indie games, all made by ONE person, just go play it, this work deserve to be seen by more people.

The first thing that comes to my mind when thinking about a hat in time is "Why did it take me so long to play it??"

A Hat in Time is a homage to old 3d platformers, but that ends here, because it is it's own game, while it does seek inspiration from older titles like Mario Sunshine it implements it way diferrent, it implements it a hat in time's way.

For me the most important thing in a platformer is the controls and how freely you can move, and here while the moveset is not as big as Mario's, the level design is made in such a way that you can fly through the levels combining habilites and hat, it is easy to play but it fells amazing to master the moveset.

Also this game has an brilliant set of characters, there are so many ideas, my favorite one are the birds and the murder mystery(!) chapter, the ideas are so damn good.

This mix of excellent movement, lovable characters, amazing loading screens and music makes for one of the best indie games and 3d platforms out there,it's not just a sunshine or banjo copy, it is just better than they.

Carto

2020

Carto is a lovely short breeze adventure, everything here is full of charm and charisma, as a puzzle games it is one of a kind, from time to time there will be that puzzle game that has a neat unique ideia, and executes upon it beautifully, and thats Carto.

The idea of moving not the player but the map is really interesting, and here it works like a charm, as a little cartographer you'll navigate your way using the maps itself, the original idea is expanded upon greatly and
it doesn't overstay its welcome, it's so well thought.

That alongside with a charming cast of characters, a lot of animal friends! and a heartwarming finale adds up to a must play puzzle game, maybe they could use some hint system at some point, but other than that, it's a delight.

This is my second playthrough, one that immediately followed a replay of the original Bioshock instead of the opposite when I first played Infinite.

I now see why people have come back and taken their 10/10 ratings away. Gameplay-wise the game feels like so much of stepdown from the more sandbox-like world of Rapture. The risk vs reward hacking, a lot more plasmids, the camera system, and so on are missing. Even with something as not having physics on objects takes away from that feeling.

It's obvious that Irrational Games had more planned for the game from all the demos and trailers that appeared years before release so it's sad to see so much cut.

But it keeps a pretty great story within it's more linear gameplay. When I first played the game back on release, it blew my mind. Although I see more plot holes now than before, I still really enjoyed the concept of Columbia. It's such a unique setting and could only make sense in the Bioshock universe.
