This is a pretty fun time, with some excellent puzzles and some interesting locations, Deathloop manaaged to keep me entertained for the 15 hours I spent completing its story. The lead system is a super way to keep you hooked and focused on the main story beats, connecting the dots to find the perfect loop. Still not sure what the review hype was about, but this was definitely some good fun

When I finished this game, I knew that it was quite probably my 2nd favourite game of all time. I loved the story, and was hooked from minute one right to the end, and the combat and world design was another level from its predecessor. THIS is an experience that everyone should have the privilege to enjoy, and if you have not yet played this, I urge you to pick this up and let it spoil you during its 25-30 hour runtime. A masterpiece, truly unbelievable

I played Diablo III whenever Diablo IV released, mainly because it was on sale for really cheap, and also because I wanted to see what the fuss was about. And I have to say, I actually had a great time, it was chill, I could watch YouTube while mindlessly working my way through each dungeon, and in the end, I finished the main campaign within a week or so. I never dove into any endgame content after, mainly because the game was old at this stage, and also I just didn't have the interest. A fun time that kept me entertained for a bit, but nothing overly special to me.

A fun launch title for the PS5, Miles Morales improved upon many of the original ideas from the first title in the series, with improved animations and combat systems. Miles Morales tells a heart-warming story and allows us as players to get to know Miles' character in a way that we hadn't been able to in the first game. A story of courage and immense responsibility, this is the perfect set-up to Spider-Man 2

Finally, a Spider-Man game with insane graphics and a brilliantly well-realised open world and web swinging system. This is such a fun time, with clean combat, and an engaging story, which tells perhaps one of the more emotional Spider-Man stories. I have two gripes. One, the gameplay loop started to feel pretty repetitive and samey after about 10 hours or so, and two, the side content is a little bit lackluster. That being said, this is absolutely a must-play for any Spider-Man fan in existence

My GOTY for 2023, Lies of P is one of the most surprisingly brilliant experiences I've ever had. Combat is super tight and extremely rewarding, the world is fascinating and the story is perhaps the most engaging Soulslike I've played. The boss fights are a spectacle, and while some are relatively straightforward, there are some seriously painful encounters here that I spent multiple hours on. Excited for the already confirmed DLC and sequel, both will hopefully be a fun time

A pretty good mystery time-loop game, this is one of those games that's best experienced in just one or two sittings. A little strange and pretty easy, there's enough mystery to keep you going until one of its endings. It can be creepy at times, especially when things go wrong, but this is well worth a play

My favourite of the new Hitman trilogy, quite possibly because of the Murder Mystery level alone, Hitman 3 took some of the great ideas from the first two, and twisted those, making up some of the best levels in the new trilogy. The climax to the story is a great one, leaving Agent 47 in an interesting predicament. The whole trilogy is well worth your time, but this third one is definitely the highlight

Unbelievable. For me, the best combat system in any game ever made, with some of the cleanest parry windows and most brilliant boss fights in any game I've ever played. Sekiro is punishing and brutal until the switch suddenly flicks and you're bossing people for fun, and now your enemies are having a brutal time of it as you parry and Mikiri counter through its waves of enemies. A great game for musically minded people who can keep in time with rhythms, this is quite possibly the best "hard" game there is.

This is pretty bad. I wanted to like it I have to say, taking it as a free game on PS+ and booting it up, there was some promise. But it felt clunky, the world was empty and it simply just didn't work. Gave up after about 4 hours, it just wasn't for me

I played this when I had Covid in Summer 2022 and it was free on PS+, and while it was totally below the standard of what an Avenger's game should be, this was OK. Like, I had fun with it for the 5 days I played through the campaign. It was super repetitive, a little bit button mashy, and frankly, a bit pointless, but it kept me going through isolation. Sad it's dead now, but at least I have those memories

Oh Horizon, you slow burner of a brilliant game. I wish I could go back and experience this for the first time all over again. The juicy lore here is pretty incredible, and for me was one of the most impressive new IPs of the PS4 generation. I can't give it above 4 stars however, because of the serious pacing issues, as well as Aloy's lack of personality that often time, makes it difficult to want to spend vast amounts of time with her. The combat is good, the enemy design is quite simply terrific, and the story that plays out, especially with the exploration of the old centres is truly terrific.

I really like Kena, it's one of those games that feels a bit like a hidden gem. Beautiful artstyle and a decent enough story, don't be fooled by this game's child-like appearance. Some of the boss fights are BRUTAL, akin to a Soulslike, and the boss and enemy design is pretty scary considering how "cutesy" this game presents itself. Some decent puzzles, along with good combat make this a fun time, but don't be surprised if you find the parry timing to be super awkward, because it is.

Influential. Ahead of its time. Quite possibly the most fun to be had in any video game ever made. GTA V is still a fantastic game 11 years on. When PlayStation released it as a free game in its PS+ Extra tier, everyone gave them mad praise, forgetting that this is 11 YEARS OLD, and also pretty much owned by everyone and their dog. One of the GOATs, the campaign is well thought through and there is rarely a dull moment. So so easy to play again and again, if you haven't played this, I can only assume that you don't play video games, or you've only just been born.

One of the most impactful franchise resets of all time, God of War is a truly astonishing game, telling a captivating and gripping story of a changed man in Kratos. Stories like the ones told here are the reason that I wished more people played video games, just to experience the emotions that God of War brings up in its 20ish hours runtime. No TV series will ever do what this game did in 2018, and shows that at that time, PlayStation were ahead of the curve with their single player story-driven experiences.
