Hackers (1995) by way of Silicon Valley (2014). One of the best open world cities not made by Rockstar, with gameplay and storytelling that's leaps and bounds ahead of the first game. Shockingly high effort, Ubisoft was really on to something here.

Not just the beat-em-up, the stealth oriented preying-upon-armed-goons angle was such an insanely COOKED creative choice to embody the caped crusader. Attractively gothic detectivism that turns into a reverse-survival delight through seismic punchy combos and techno-noir sleuthing. So tonally splendid you'd groove from the ceremonial pacing running from one villain showdown to the next and game over screens down to the badass slow walking, gets a bit formulaic with far too easily readable boss fights to the point of unchallenging linearity, still takes a conceptual blast of comic book roots through amazingly ominous sequencing including a mindbending Scarecrow that toys around videogame metaphysics to amusing effect and a toolbox of crafty sneaking made particularly priceless when seeing the last armed guard running around while panicking helplessly. Solid pacesetter.

A surprisingly beautiful and fun short game about being a cat in a sci-fi post apocalyptic world. It's basically a walking sim with some light puzzles and level exploration, but also with button prompts to jump and do some cat things.

Not only does it have some very good graphics that help with the world building, but also the soundtrack fits perfectly into every scene and adding to the sci-fi feel.

While a humungous leap from its predecessors, this one is still not worth playing.

This game has tremendous atmosphere, great radios albeit with more songs needed, and an actually comprehensible city. It is actually pretty fun to drive around in this game, with the good tunes and wacky car physics, though I could do without my car blowing up from 2 bumps. The problems lie within the actual missions, and the gameplay outside of driving.

The missions are structured similarly to the first two games, where you just go and do random jobs, though of course they become increasingly higher-profile and dangerous, but most notably they become annoyingly difficult. I am 95% certain a lot of these missions were never play-tested, with some being nearly impossible unless you already have guns or something going into the mission.

The flat-out bad mission design isn't helped by the lackluster story either, you get cut-scenes now but they tell hardly any story, and as a silent protagonist, it really feels like you're just doing missions for the fun of it, not because of a developing plot.

The shooting sucks, driving boats isn't fun, there's no mission checkpoints which can be quite frustrating, there's no overall map so if you don't remember where something is, tough shit. There's just too many things getting in the way of actually having fun, which is unfortunate, cause I was really loving this world, and really getting attuned to the driving. Hopefully Vice City improves.

That was a grueling 8 hours, I'd rather watch the Phantom Menace 4 times straight than play this again.

There is actually a lot of fairly ambitious ideas here, such as massive levels, a huge number of unique NPCs that can dynamically be interacted with, and some neat albiet silly looking CGI recreations of Episode 1 scenes. Unfortunately, this game blows!

The combat is janky and unsatisfying, the camera angle is asinine, and the platforming is in the shit hall-of-fame. I believe the devs were aware of how horrible the combat was, as they try to supply you with health packs pretty often, even the FINAL BATTLE with Darth Maul gives you two FULL health packs, and I doubt I'd have been able to win without them.

A large majority of the levels tends to be filler, for example, in the grand finale, most of Obi-Wans play-time on the level is spent doing obnoxious platforming and killing generic battle droids, another level involves captain panaka and the fake queen just trying to get to the senate. It vaguely goes through Episode 1 but also attempts to waste as much time as possible.

The worst level for me personally was Mos Espa, which is actually a GIANT Tatooine town that is technically very impressive, but a nightmare to traverse. It took me legitimately an hour and a half on this one god damn level to complete, a true nightmare.

It's quite possibly the worst way to experience Episode 1, and that says a lot. It really is not worth playing for anyone and I personally regret actually going through and finishing this one, onto the next Phantom Menace game!

Everything here rules, multiplayer, solo, everything nailed. I find myself coming back to it for a quick burst of fun shooter experience

This is the greatest game of all time. Okay… that's an exaggeration… it's the 2nd. Without a doubt the greatest story in any game of all time, the best characters, and one of the most in-depth open world experiences ever. I’m struggling to put into words how amazing this game is. Arthur's story, and the story of the Van Der Linde gang are some of the most incredible stories, not just in gaming history, but in storytelling history. Every character is beautifully crafted with multi-dimensional personality traits and the story that follows the gang, and Arthur is beautiful and moving. Arthur may be one of, if not the, best character in all of storytelling. On top of the story, the game has a beautiful and intoxicatingly immersive open world, every character you meet feels like a real person passing through the world, every animal you hunt, bounty you bring to the law, food you cook just adds to this real experience of being an outlaw in the west. I remember a moment of this game, where I was riding through the countryside and I saw a watchtower with a camp next to it. The camp has trapper supplies, canned food, and cold weather gear. I mean just that small area holds a story within it, and stuff like that is littered all over the map. There is shit that I didn't even know about until 60 hours in that alone I could've spent hours doing. I don't even know what to say to give this game the flowers it deserves, but just know once you finish this game you will look at gaming, storytelling and the world differently.

A great, great game that stands tall amongst the rest of its era. Great mechanics and an engaging story.

A game that thinks its more intelligent that what it really is. There is fun to be had dont get me wrong, it is an enjoyable experience, however narratively it is so far up its own ass it cant save its shortcomings.
