phenomenal experience. only thing i didnt enjoy more than the original was the combat

its another mediocre-at-best-horrendous-at-worst modern fire emblem game lol
gameplay's alright, some characters are neat, others are awful, and the story is half baked and underwhelming, just like every fe game from awakening onwards (not you echoes i love you echoes)

the control and customization in this game is so far beyond any past entry but being given so much control really strips away any of the charm and soul that kept me coming back to past entries. your island in this game feels more like a sandbox than a community which really isnt helped by how quickly the game just.. runs out of things to do. no shop upgrades, very limited villager dialogue, etc etc

theres a pretty good reason why people praise this game so much

it's really hard to articulate how this game made me feel, but by god did it make me feel a lot of things..!!
as with most things of this nature, it's such an inherently personal experience that its hard to just.. rate it, but both games in the milk series are ones that i love deeply, regardless of rating

i think most of my gripes with this game come from the fact that i'm god awful at it and have had trouble getting a decent grasp over how to handle the wand/spell system effectively. definitely hoping i'll be able to come back and give this game a higher rating in the future

its about what you'd expect from yet another splatoon game, with a lot of improvements over 2, but still not something i'd want to invest hundreds of hours grinding

god this game is such a slough to get through
maybe the high encounter rate would feel more enjoyable if the dungeons weren't such ridiculous mazes and the combat wasnt a shallow mess
at least the soundtrack is good
