Persona 3 FES is one of my favorite games of all time, so when I heard that a remake was on the way, I was elated. Over time, doubt started to set it before the game's launch, remaking a title that a lot of people hold in high regard is no easy feat. As someone who loved Persona 3 and holds it's themes, characters, gameplay, and everything else in between in high regard, this remake completely delivered. Gameplay enhancements go a long way, and while yes, Reload is the easier game, it's combat feels like a dream to go through, fast, snappy, and oh so stylish, it never feels truly boring. Soundtrack is another strong aspect of the original Persona 3, and while some may argue that Reload "butchers" Meguro's arrangements, I strongly disagree. I'm of the mind that Reload's ost is at worst, a sidegrade, and at best, is an upgrade. Everything that made the original soundtrack great is here, and then some. The story recieved minimal changes, only adding scenes for Strega, these scenes, while admittedly small in number, go a long way in establishing the individuals of Strega as actual characters. Who hold their own goals and motivations. A far cry from how they were handled in the original.
Persona 3 Reload is a triumph for anyone who loves JRPGS, and an even bigger triumph for huge fans of the persona/megaten series. It's only competition this year are games from the same publisher, a testament to the overall quality that they put out. Easy 10/10. PLAY IT NOW

I literally can't say anything about this game for the sake of spoilers, so being vague. This story is fucking insane. constant twists and turns, with differing protagonists to boot, somehow, amidst all of the chaos, there is beauty. By the end of it all, it all makes sense, and you're hit with a beautiful message that moved me like few other games have. I also like the funny yakisoba pan man.
EDIT: 7/3/24
my ex put me on this game so it loses half a star, still really good though

One of the best video games ever made. Ichiban is one of the most genuinely inspiring protagonists across all the games I've ever played. The game handles adult friendships in such a real way, it makes you think that the future may have a lot positive to bring. The turn-based combat starts off awful, but after the training wheels get taken off, it really gets going. The combat might be a deal-breaker for some, but I still highly recommend giving it a shot. Yakuza: Like A Dragon handles a genre shift with such style and gusto, you'd never that this was their first turn-based RPG. The story is some of the best writing ever produced from RGG Studio, a plot that'll leave you in pain until the very end (in a good way). Yakuza: Like A Dragon gets a solid 10/10 from me. PLAY IT

Lost judgment expands on everything that made judgment great. Bombastic and deep gameplay. A gripping story that kept me hooked at every turn. I absolutely adore this game, and rate it higher than most of the mainline yakuza games. An absolute must play.

Shorter than it's prequel, Yakuza Kiwami delivers a superior story to that of it's source material, with brilliant gameplay that surpasses it's prequel, Yakuza 0, in every single way. The final boss fight of this game WILL pull at your heartstrings, I highly recommend this entry in the Yakuza/Like a Dragon series.

Brilliant and gripping narrative, with fun gameplay to boot. A game that retroactively improves upon the story of the game it's a prequel to. A tad grindy, but still an overall great time.

A step up, and a step down from the previous entry. Still a brilliant story that's filled with just as many, if not more twists and turns. With a secret ending that brilliantly recontextualizes everything up until that point.

A long, winding story with brilliant "escape room" gameplay. Uchikoshi knows how to write a story filled with twists at every turn. Highly Recommend.

One of the best RPGs ever made. Atlus as always knocks it out of the park with a stellar combat system as well as a stellar story. Highly recommend.

A little antiquated, but still a really fun time. A fantastic story unlike any other told in an RPG. Highlighting the themes of death and life in such a mature and gripping way. It's a game that. once beaten, can change one's outlook on life, I know it did for me. I highly, highly, recommend my favorite game of all time, Persona 3 FES.
