alucard is my special little birthday boy

Embarrassingly, this was technically my first pokemon game as I'd never thought to try it sooner. It's a perfectly serviceable game, but there's nothing fantastic about it and it has some significant flaws (most notably an utterly pathetic postgame). At least the music is nice.

The slightly toned down difficulty and odd manner in which the models interact with the environment put a damper on the experience, but it's still rondo of blood man.

sets the groundwork for some incredible stuff

Short and sweet except for that final chase sequence which i could only get past by turning the resolution way down. bitch

The story and thematic problems of this game bug me, even if the gameplay is mostly fine (aside from the fucking city in the Sky)

I don't like or agree with everything this game does, but I have a lot of respect for its decision to push some boundaries and take the series in a new direction. Wish it had a proper followup to build on things introduced in the game.

first one in the series I saw! Ah, nostalgia

There's something strange and almost haunting about this game. It's definitely worth experiencing for its unique vibe alone.
