This review contains spoilers

Going into this blind I’ll have to say I did not know what to expect. What I will say is the second that nun popped out of her own mouth in her underwear, I was locked in.

It’s not the most interactive game (basically a walking simulator with some relatively simple puzzles), but it manages to tell an engaging story using some unique techniques that keep things fresh along the way. Definitely a game you play for the experience and story rather than the gameplay, so if you’re not into that kind of thing you might have a harder time with this.

jimbobobo reviewed Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines
I didn’t expect much out of this game playing it for the first time in 2024, but I was pleasantly surprised. I can’t quite put into words what quite made this game so special for me. Maybe it was the unapologetic early 2000s edge? Maybe it was going in blind playing a Malkavian? Maybe it’s the RPG? Maybe I’m discovering a love for Vampires?

The game is for sure not perfect and it shows towards the end, but I have yet to find another game to scratch the same itch since…

jimbobobo reviewed The Case of the Golden Idol: Complete Edition
Easily some of the most fun I’ve had with a puzzle/mystery/detective/whatever game. Game has a good difficulty curve that keeps things engaging and challenging all the way through the base game and the DLC.

jimbobobo reviewed Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree
Doubles down on everything good, and unfortunately everything bad about the base game. More fun exploration, more new combat tools, but also more meh boss fight design and more performance issues.
