While the game is definitely an upgrade compared to Chapter 1, it still has a lot of problems.
I am an easily scared person, horror games are my weakness, and when I play them, I end up finding myself shaking from the slightest threat. With this game, I only got mildly scared (which is saying a lot), but I ended up feeling bored at the end. It just ends way too quickly. The monster is constantly being shown and talking to you throughout the whole game, and it kinda ruins any mystery they have. When I see Mommy watch me through a window, telling me how to play the minigame, I do not see her as threatening at all. It feels like she's trying way too hard to be scary, but she comes off as annoying half the time.
The minigames were very easy, and they felt like chores I had to do to complete the game. I like the ideas for them, but I just don't vibe with how they were executed. The whole time, you know what's going to happen, and when it's going to happen, you can see the jumpscares come from a mile away.
I also had a bad experience with softlocking myself in 2 different occasions, which in an 8-hour game wouldnt be that bad, but this game took me an hour to beat. I spent almost a fifth of my entire playthrough dealing with softlocks, and with the nedless padding that the minigames provided, this game felt like a bore to playthrough.
I was definitely scared, but I just didn't have that much fun, completing the game just feels empty.

The presentation for this game surpriced me. You can tell the developers are talented and know what theyre doing, However the game is like 20 minutes long, which is not enough time to set up a horror game. The game is not really scary, but it is high quality for being free, but still, if you're going to play chapter 1 and don't intend to play the other chapters, this game is not worth the time.
It is not scary at all, and the chase secuence at the end is pretty bad for being the highlight of the game.

The only DMC game I've ever played before this was the 2013 reboot, so I'm not gonna pretend like i understand any of what's going on in the story. What I can say I understand is the absolutely engaging gameplay. This game just doesn't let you take a breather; it's constantly introducing new characters and weapons way before you can get used to the previous ones you got (using the void was necessary for me). It was definitely overwhelming at first, but once I was able to get a hold of the controls and learned how to string my combos correctly, I had the most fun I've ever had in a hack'n'slash game. The soundtrack goes so hard too, you can tell each part of this game was made with love and care. My only complaints with this game are that the camera kinda does what it wants sometimes and it messes with my combos a lot. Also, playing this game with a controller is REALLY recommended. I played it with mouse and keyboard the whole time, and I could tell I should have used a controller. It's not unplayable by any means, but you should definitely dust off your controller if you're getting this game on pc. I did not expect to have this much fun with this game, but I will definitely check out the rest of the franchise since it's all available on Steam.

I just love the huge amount of builds you can make in this game. You can edit every single bit of your character and play however you want. the story is really fun and i wish the gameplay was just a bit less rpg like. but there is just so much to do in this game and getting all the different endings is enough of an excuse to sink like 100 hours into it. The game is still buggy though, i've ran into a few softlocks and i had to reload a save from 2 hours behind at one point, but if you can get through the occasional glitch you will find one of the most immersive and fun games there is right now.

why does this exist, i just got remembered of it and i hate it so much. its just some meme game from a meme that everyone had forgotten in 2008. The celebrity stuff was already outdated when it came out (pretty sure it was dead when production started) the game is not funny, not interesting, its just a boring confussing mess. im just confused, who did they make this for? who even bought this? I just genuenly can't believe that they got a team of people working on this game.

This isn't a very long game but its perfect for a one night game to play with your friends. having to record your friends going straight into danger is so fun, you have complete control of how the video is paced. But it gets boring quickly, its a cool novelty but there isnt that much to do.

another horror game aimed at children. it lies to you and tries to tell you its a family friendly good time for everyone just to show its true colors and it sucks any childhood wonder you may have left. once played there is no way back.

i got into this game not knowing it was an ARG, and it delivered one of the most interesting stories i've seen in an horror game.

i used to make levels for my favorite youtubers where they would get baited into a penis jumpscare.

this is a horror game disguised as a child friendly pet simulator. In pikmin 2 you fight for your life every day and pray all of your friends dont die in the most brutal way possible.

it was crazy how much charm and life they could put in a ps1 game. i personally dont like how the game's aestethic was ported over to hd, specially crash, but love this game for being a "1 to 1" remake, bugs and all. you can see the love and care put into this game and how passionate the devs were about it.

would have been such a good game if paying didnt make you a deity

backloggd doesnt show it but this game was in the Ps2 somehow.

this game does not deserve the hate. crashes design goes hard if you want to stop crying about any slight change that happens in your life. the game is actually fun and the bosses are fun. the music and the combat go so hard, i just like lighthearted fun games that i can play with my brother on the couch. its not that crazy of an experience but its a pretty cool time.
