guns of icarus online, blackwake, and the morrowind multiplayer mod are probably the weirdest ones i can think of. splatoon 2/3 have been very good to me in this regard, esp recently. otherwise mostly monhun or flavor-of-the-month shooters

jc how many people actually use zoom to talk to friends? can't think of a time I've ever used it outside of work, but i may be in the minority

yeah I only use zoom for work as well, should probably be discord call with the boys or something.

@Hot_Anarcocoa I could be mistaken but I think the games here work as well as they do for vibing with the boys because of downtime, a casual pace, or because the game itself can be kinda rote. there's also that aspect of pick up and play where you could reasonably ask the boys to run a trial in FFXIV or do a few missions in Deep Rock without having to commit to an extended play session

Northgard fit the bill here for me. A very stripped-back game of Civilisation that kept the attention free enough for good chats with mates.

@Detchibe there are very competitive shooters on here though? Like as long as we're not accepting mobas, I've always described Overwatch as "a hero based game (aka up until then a moba) in a genre I actually enjoy."
