this game drives me up the wall for some reason and im not joking but my ass is going to fucking start a ng+ playthrough anyway (that i wont ever finish like with p5 but that's besides the point)

iunno what my problem is but as i finally finished my years long playthrough i came to realize ive spent WAY too much time on p5+royal combined to now have a relationship witj it that's soured as i've sampled more video games... it just doesn't do it for me anymore. never was the biggest fan of the entire story when i first played it anyway but now i'm just so dissatisfied. sure, it is fun, i wouldn't be playing it if I wasn't, but... strange how i don't have much passion for these characters (bar yusuke LOL) or like any single thematic element. sucks bad. makes me sad. wish i saw what yall saw

the amount of effort put into the writing in this game is insane. every time characters do callbacks to the source material i smile an insane grin like it's got such an established sense of time ???
plus i love how characters will just casually namedrop actual brand names instead of just saying "that store" or "that clothes brand" feels like they're so real lol

but really... every single character (other than mari) having fully voiced lines is crazy i haven't played a lot of games with game-original plot based on animanga but it feels astounding that that much content plays out
have i mentioned how much i love the vas' performances. they're incredibly memorable, perfect for their roles, and all give the girls such fun quirks in their speech ...!!!! GAH

why on god's green earth is mari french though and why'd they never mention that in game. my hc is that her parents are dutch but she was born and raised in france (truth)

mari is great in the personality department. im ngl sometimes the japan obsession feels like WAY too much but the fact that 90% of the time the squad is like o i hadn't ever thought about it that way before... it is really nice! and they have a bonding moment and they're all happier like the way other characters comment on how happy and close they are will make me ARGH
the way she has differing relationships with her friends based on her personality and the way her demeanor reflects on them (like how she totally enables tomomiki but also has really sweet lowkey moments with namiko) love how they weren't afraid to make her her own person. like i know this sounds bottom of the barrel but she feels like she's been there all along PERFECTLY. also her design is just super cute anyway i love silly clumsy tall girls!!!! YEAHHHHHH

(demo) this demo is so fucking thick because i've only completed two and a half episodes (plus the outro which... take my advice and do not fiddle with the new options you get in shit just go along with each route if you're trying it out

was like man i wanna play something chill as i fall asleep (i conked out hard) so i played a little of x and i'm barely scratching at anything here but every session does leave me slightly more invested. i'm noticing lots of specific things i like.
The narration and reflection on tidus' part (whom i've named mareas lol) is amazing- it's, the fact that i'm getting both his current perspective (his emotiveness is amazing, he demonstrates so much character that i'm very endeared to) and his supposed future perspective (basically getting character growth crazy fast) is so yum
one of my favorite movies (y tu mamá también) does the same thing in that sense of the depth of self reflection thru "live" narration, as it recognizes tidus' character a result of the various facets of his upbringing, and not just like, one key event like so many other rpgs like to do

dolce and ludmila are my favourite female characters in the franchise (so far) nd its funny cause its like yea figures
their designs are so good im glad they did that shit twice
