Well made but not for me. I never played the era of Silent Hill / Resident Evil games this is drawing on so gameplay that should feel nostalgic and classic just feels clunky to me (this is from a lack of culturing on my part!)

Fun to finally get around to playing this. The anniversary edition was a great excuse. From my experiences with the Witness and JB as a person, I figured this would be a much harder game but I’m glad that it’s never too wildly obtuse in its puzzle design. I had a good enough time.

Much shorter than I was expecting, but that’s never a complaint from me. Too many games are massively over bloated and this isn’t one of them.

My only gripe is that the writing feels very puffy and completely disconnected from the gameplay. Not a huge issue but it really seems to want to seem important but gameplay is king here, no matter how many poems you try to paste on the screen between levels.

much much better on a revisit. I’ll come back to this in co-op

A deeply lovely game. Intimate and expansive. Creative puzzles that I felt so smart for solving. Atmosphere.Music.

Both:
1. A wonderful metroidvania that completely disassembles any expectation of combat as necessary to the genre
&
2. infinitely more than that

Was hoping for something more fresh than Hades 1.5 outside of a new way to collect materials. Well made but not my thing. Would love to see this studio make a new kind of game other than the same isometric 3D but 2D hack and slash they’ve made for years. They’re obviously super talented but they are firmly parked in their comfort corner.

After saving pretty obsessively, the game lost over an hour of progress and kinda killed my momentum. Fine other than that? Very linear and REALLY trying to be funny. Will return when/if I feel the need to replay the progress I lost.

Fun enough but hard to mesh with the solo play after Two Crowns. Too lonely for me!

Very cute. Looking forward to digging into this more in co-op!

Lots of fun. it did crack into “i wish this had been over a couple of hours ago” but only a little. Really well made.

simple and cute. One of those games where you go “I could make this” (but in a really good way. It makes game design seem exciting).

very cute and pretty fun. The over the top cut scenes really got me. Kinda reminds me of an Arthur game I had when I was a kid.

A perfect game imo. One of the first titles that really opened my eyes to the kind of texture and grit a game world could have without heavy handed world building or insufferable dialogue. Incredible stuff.

I’ll be back to this one, but what I’ve played so far has really encouraged me for where games are headed (not the micro transactions)

Points for originality in mechanics and presentation.

Playing felt like a drag. Edgy in a really dated millennial way. Pixelated penises pissing, “killing makes me horny”, and other just weird bits in cutscenes just got very very old on top of gameplay that felt so trite by the end. Felt like it really wanted to be deep but it just came off desperate to be rough on the senses. A bit of subtlety would go a lot further than this game’s magic bullet ever could.

Graceless.
