@RedBackLoggd Yeah you're right about the co-composition but I think all the tracks I liked were composed by Wise.
So about DK's handling - I did play it on NSO with the joycons and that was a terrible experience. I actually didn't like Super Mario World either with this controller/NSO combo but ended up loving SMW when I used an actual SNES controller on an emulator. I feel like I should revisit the game with an SNES Controller since the game was designed with that in mind. The joycon D-pad just sucks. Maybe my opinion on the game will change.
And about the hitboxes - I genuinely felt like a lot of deaths against enemies felt cheap. Again, not sure if the joycons contributed to this issue, but yeah.
Actually a big reason I didn't like the level design was the zoomed in camera. It's way too close. I can barely see what's ahead of me and it makes DK control weird. That was my main issue. I couldn't enjoy the levels because I can barely see them. I actually don't like sonic either - it's too fast and makes me feel motion sick lol. It's a basic taste but Mario is really the sweet spot for me.
But I do want to revisit this game with an actual SNES controller and an actual SNES/accurate emulator.

Dark Souls: Remastered
@RedBackLoggd I'm still pretty early in the game, let's see how long I last haha. I do aim to finish it mainly cause so many people praise it, for which I'm willing to look past the inconveniences. But yeah I would recommend you try Elden Ring, those QoL changes really make a huge deal in a game like this. DS3 is on my backlog too and I've heard similar things about it.

I'm currently playing the game right now and I agree with some points. Mainly the checkpoint/bonfire system. This is evil game design. I'm coming from Elden ring, which imo was fantastic in with it's amount of sites of graces and the stakes of marika. I'm spending so much time just walking around I can't help but feel annoyed that the lack of checkpoints was done to pad out an otherwise fun game. The enemies are cool, the environment and atmosphere are great and the combat is decent (not as good as Elden Ring imo).
