Sometimes I think about how much I enjoyed this game and how much the plot blew me away in 8th grade and think about how I will probably never enjoy a game as much as this one. No one else was talking about this game on release, I only picked it up because I was a nerd and knew who Shu Takumi was and had some leftover Christmas money. One of the best impulse purchases I've made.
one of the best ds puzzle games ive played. this game is absolutely worth your time for the story. It has style and charm oozing from every character with a great artstyle. I love going back to this from time to time again and experiencing the absolute nostalgia i felt when i first played it. It doesn't even need a sequel because the ending was THAT good
To this day, still haven't found a game with as stellar pacing and as compelling a plot as Ghost Trick. The game has an intriguing premise from the get-go, but after a certain point in the game that I won't spoil, things ramp up like crazy and you WON'T want to put the game down. Its not just the story either, the puzzles are fun to solve and take advantage of the DS touchscreen. They even introduce new mechanics to spice things up as the game goes on. But ultimately, the story is top-notch and the resolution had me on edge all throughout.
This is Shu Takumi's masterpiece, hands down.

Found myself enjoying this a lot less than I hoped I would. Like Shu Takumi's other games, it makes great use of reincorporation and has a really satisfying ending. That being said, I didn't really find the mystery as interesting as the ones in the Ace Attorney games, probably due to how much less grounded the world is. I was also disappointed by the puzzles, which are great conceptually, but I didn't feel satisfied by the solutions to pretty much any of them. The game is worth playing alone though for the fantastic character animations- it has some of the most expressive 3D models I've ever seen, which is unfathomably impressive considering the fact that it's on the DS.
Shu Takumi's actual magnum opus. Ghost Trick is one of my absolute favorite games of all time, and it is absolutely worth tracking down and playing. The music and art style are fantastic, and literally every character in the game is memorable in some way. Even the most minor characters either have a fun design or an interesting part in a puzzle or, at the very least, one really good line. The major characters are, of course, wonderful as well, with Missile being the best of them all.
The plot is fantastic, and following all the twists and turns is a wild ride that you don't really want to get off. The puzzles are extremely fun, too, as you Rube Goldberg your way through the game to save people. I think my one single criticism is that Chapter 9 is an escort mission and therefore very frustrating and bad, but it's not even as bad as it could be.
Anyway, play Ghost Trick. You will be glad you did.
