I firmly believe this game is the peak of platforming. Each level has a genuinely interesting gimmick for the player to learn and master. Not only that, but they all manage to stand out as their own impressive mini-worlds that have a life to them, despite being one-off levels. The puzzles are easy enough to understand, but difficult enough to feel rewarding. The timer gimmick gives you a thrill like no other and the fact that it changes the landscape of the level going back is ingenious. Music also slaps. Genuinely amazing game.
This has always been a comfort game. Easy to pick up and play, easy to 100%. I especially like the settings in not only each world, but each level. They not only stray away from the typical Nintendo platformer worlds we have today, but deliver on the ideas very well, all from its original release on NES in 1993.

I haven't really played any other Metroidvania-type games, but the genre has always seemed interesting. I don't really have a standard on metroidvanias, but I still really liked this game! It isn't super deep but it serves really well as an "open world" Kirby platformer and is one of my favorite games in the series for it.
