The type of game that immediately captures my heart. The first time outing of Indie Dev Ember Labs is not perfect, but I’m excited to see what they do next after this beautiful adventure.

One of those 2000s gems that deserved a remaster

Gets back to what made the original fun, but still not as good.

My least favorite of the original trilogy

Fun to visit a childhood favorite with beautiful graphics

Really fun considering my first time playing the franchise. The weapon variety is the star of the show!

2018

I’ve always been a fan of the genre but never found one I truly wanted to do it all in. While it gets knocked down a peg because of the rng when trying to get a few achievements, I still find myself wanted to play again.

While I do love this game, franchise, and all the gimmicks that come along with Pikmin and its world, I’ll admit the nostalgia glasses and bias are on full display here, and I don’t care.

Hasn’t been a metroidvania that has got me hooked as, well, a Metroid. I award Will of the Wisps into the pantheon of the genre.

As a man who doesn’t enjoy RPGs for various reasons, this game is perfection. No flaws.

Best story, fun adventure, innovative gameplay. Just a few reasons this is my favorite Zelda and I will die on that hill.

My favorite franchise gets its first new game since 2004 and God almighty it’s beautiful. Although I believe that is Super came out with this engine and controls it would be the better game, Dread holds a candle up to the the greatest of all time, which is all I need to say.

I was a Nintendo boy growing up, so I missed out on a lot of the PlayStation games that everyone else is so fond about. I recently played the remaster of ratchet and clank and had a great time, so I thought I would go on a “games I missed out on” binge. Picked up the insane trilogy at a local game shop, and left pretty excited to play crash for the first time ever after all these years.

How in the hell was this Mario’s “rival”?! Even remastered it feels clunky, frustrating, and almost unplayable at times. There are very few moments of actual enjoyment, and most of the time when I finish a level I am just relieved it’s over. The bosses are terrible, wait until the obvious opening and do nothing innovative the whole time. There are two more games in this collection, and although I see many reviews saying that the sequels fix and even expand on the OGs gameplay, it’s going to be a long time before I think about picking this up again.

I was fighting on either giving this a 4 1/2 or 5, but as far as co-op games go, it doesn’t get better than this. Literally so fun, from mini games to the story to the crazy settings and everything in between. My partner and I put 14 hours into this game in two days and I would do it again in a heartbeat.
