thank you ronald reagan for respecting my they/them pronouns

incredible that one of the most profitable and expensive online games ever made feels the exact same as those free to play Chinese MMOs that windows detects as trojans and has names like "Nexus Strike Online"

Run Lola Run but it gets me kicked out a modern art gallery

has this wild, innovative idea of making every playable character cool as hell instead of the roster being like 15 humans and 1 lizard

finished after 8 years :)

got a bunch of stuff i could say about this game but i'm kind of tired so i'm just gonna say it's technically an immersive sim and not elaborate

2021

Suprisingly the game's not that focused on the photography with it being more of a vehicle to show you these little busy worlds. Reminds me of Where's Wally books in the way that it's these big complicated places with tons of things going on but looking into it you can see all these small, individual scenarios with individual people and being able to explore an environment like that is really cool. The game's also genuinely sweet and endearing, it's funny and has a subtle relatability that keeps the cuteness from feeling insincere.

Really enjoyed it, gg

I love the way the game looks, it feels like it's throwing together tons of different aesthetics but they all link together and make something that feels it's own despite coming from a lot of unoriginal places.
It hits this space where it feels very stylish and neat through the effective art direction but also rough and messy through how that art is directed. You'll have this crooked, oddly shaped world but it's all illustrated in such a fine and caring way.

I feel like the era it was created in adds to this as well. The boxy models and low-res textures make it feel sketchy and man-made. Madness Returns looks neat and I haven't played it but I don't think the smoother, more modern models that game uses has this same feeling and I doubt many games will have it because it's such an element of its time.

I just wish I like playing it more. The game for some reason uses one ammo pool for every weapon but some of the weapons are super janky and apart from explosives being good for crowds, certain weapons aren't better against certain enemies or anything like that. So it's very easy to just fall into a kind of repetitive rhythym of using the same weapon against the same enemies over and over. When you do force yourself to use all the weapons it's just 'ok' as well, nothing all that interesting.

Cool game though, would love it if it was also a fun game.

i roll around in this frog's stomach acids, he's gonns fucking spew everywhere

it's not as unplayable and awful as the 2000's angry reviewers made out to be honest, flying through the hoops feels fine and I worked out what I was meant to do without much trouble. I feel like they were trying to cling onto stuff to do funny screams to because it's just very bland and empty, feels like an early prototype but not in any cool atmospheric way, just in a "there are no mechanics" way.

I played it until I got to a lazer door I couldn't open and then gave up, it's not really interesting, just kind of nothing-y.

it's 1AM why did i play a tech demo from 2005

i think i was called slurs?

homeless, able to fly, on a military watchlist, she's just like me fr

dmc3 with an edgy, 2000s-ish style and a twink. liked it a lot, suprised it doesn't have more of a following, though i'm also glad it doesn't have a ton of reviews saying "haha, it's just a phase mom"

Doom 1, 2 and 3 are here but slightly worse. Video games :(

I got 5 of the 10 endings and I'm gonna stop there because I'm not sure where the other 5 are. Have looked around for ages, tried everything I can think of, I'm sure how you access them is obvious but I can't find them and I can't find a walkthrough so r.i.p I guess I'm done.

I really liked the atmosphere and presentation, it feels really grimey and cramped, the first time I was exploring was great, felt all surreal with these off, robotic NPC's in a really grounded and creepy atmosphere. Every room is really different and has tons going on and it means the building feels kind of alive despite how static it is functionally. I didn't really like anything else though, I wish the writing was a bit less cartoonish? A lot of the characters are cliches like Killer Clowns that I don't think fit. It does this so it can call itself a black comedy but I never really found it funny. Along with this it's really buggy, I had to restart the game 7 times to get an ending because the game kept getting stuck. Found myself getting kind of sick of the game as I played it and its mystique went away so it's probably a good thing I didn't get every ending honestly.

had fun with it for those first couple playthroughs though so might be worth trying, idk, there's no other reviews for the game rn so i feel bad leaving a kind of negative one lmao
