If I was younger I would go insane for this game. Mario Maker on the go?! It's a genius idea.
However, I'm not a child. I've started to question the world. What is life? What is my purpose? Why does this game not have online functionality? Why is the single-player campaign so hit-or-miss? Why did I get this game in 2022? THIS GAME CAME OUT SIX YEARS AGO????

Golf with your Friends is exactly what it says on the box - a cute little golf sim you can play with your friends. All of the pre-made courses are a lot of fun, but the main highlight is the community support. This game is really simple to pick-up-and-play, which is nice. The repetitive music and similar-looking course elements can make it feel a bit boring after a while, but it really is a great time.

Night in the Woods is not just your normal indie game about depression - it's one of the PRETTIEST indie games about depression.
I cannot give enough compliments to the art-style of NITW. It's just lovely to look at for the 7-ish hours I spent with the game. Between this and Origami King, Autumns in games have never looked better. The writing is sharp and pretty funny throughout. I see some reviews annoyed about how much of an unlikeable character Mae is, but I never really found an issue with her.
I wish I could say the game was as fun to play as it was to look at. The story is paced really weird - a lot of time spent doing "nothing", and then accelerates to a really big finale. There are a lot of dream sequences that I honestly didn't really have fun with. The QTEs are abundant, and while they are cute little distractions, it's nothing super engaging.
If you're looking for a well-polished narrative-focused experience, NITW has got you covered. I wish there was a bit more game on its bones, but otherwise it was a pleasant experience I'm glad didn't get left in 2017.

Going back to Generations in 2022 REALLY shows its age. There's a lot of neat ideas and game still looks really good. However, the controls feel very imprecise and the bosses really drop the ball. They're all either too simple or too punishing. People often declare this the best 3D Sonic, so I'm excited to play Lost World and Forces soon to see if they're right.
This game is just not my thing. I've never been too into rhythm games, but I got this one because of the Zelda branding. It looks really stylish and I truly did want to give it a shot, but I'm terrible at keeping beat. I wasn't enjoying my time for the first hour or two, so I don't even want to know how it ends.

It really is that good. The story is the best of any JRPG I've played, and the main group is iconic. The character design is not as over-the-top as 2, making this game more approachable for everyone as well. The battle system is excellent, and all of the quality-of-life improvements the Definitive Edition brings make this the best way to experience it in all of its glory.
The battle system and core gameplay is better than the first, but everything else brings it down just a bit for me. I agree with my friend's (@blankfret) criticism of the overall character design. The plot is investing and the twist at the end is very cool, but some chapters are painfully slow and there's a difficulty spike around 2/3rds of the way through that almost made me quit.
