I appreciate how quirky this game is, but I really can't get past its slippery controls, strangely-designed levels, and repetitive boss design.

I don't care what several 3 hour video essays have to say about this game, I still love it!!! It's so creative. It controls the best of any 3D Mario; I just wish the world design made more use of his toolkit.

The editor is ironically a bit more limited than the first one. The 3D World style is neat, but because it doesn't transition as smoothly from the first four, it requires extra time and dedication to learn. Unfortunately since the community seemed to disappear from this game, it's hard to find a reason to go back. Online play is fun when it's not laggy.

The best idea that Nintendo has ever had. The level editor had so much potential, and the Wii U was the perfect console for it. Online sharing was a bit clunky, however.

The controls aged like milk, but I can appreciate its influence on the rest of the series and kart-racing as a genre.

I like Galaxy's moody atmosphere as much as the next guy, but I will always rather come back to 2. It has even more stand-out levels than 1, and the soundtrack is just as iconic (to me, at least). I really can't decide which one is better.

I adore this game. It took so many risks, but somehow it just works. The setting and theming are second-to-none, with creative levels throughout the entire adventure. The OST is iconic (hell, even as I'm writing these reviews I'm listening to it). It's just the right level of difficult, as well.

The extra content is really neat. The base game is still nothing special, but it's worth playing through once if you can.

This game is timeless. I love almost every level, and it's generally pretty fair difficulty-wise.

Oh yeah, game of the year every year baby

Either this game is really hard, or I'm awful at old games

This game is fantastic, and I'm surprised it isn't talked about more when discussing the best 3D Mario games. It's not, but still...

I truly want to enjoy this game, but the controls are too slippery for me.

Replaying this game on the Switch made me appreciate its level design more. It hits the perfect sweetspot between being designed for both 1 and 4 people.

The most underrated 3D Mario game. It's level design is extremely tight and perfect for the hardware. It also has way more content than you'd expect. I've 100%'d this game twice for a reason; it's just that much fun.
