Just wish they wrote a story for this one

"DAN AND BOB VIDEOGAMES"
Dan: "Bob, our intro has 8fps on everdrive"
Bob: "oh cool :)"

AMAZING. I will replay it, but it was so magical. It was truly my introduction to fantasy video games in a proper sense. I played this game in the prodromes of schizophrenia, which was a very scary time and I was so happy I had this game by my side to play. It has one notable flaw, in that the character stories are not interrelated --- it can be jarring to the immersion. However, I rate this 5 stars because even with that, in a really dark time, it was something that managed to be a light in the darkness. It's that kind of game, that you can just get lost in.

This game has to be one of my favorite IP's of all time. I easily consider it genius. That being said, the combat is blah, and the dungeons are monotonous. If you can work through that, you will see a gripping mystery of honestly some really nice characters. I found it really charming, and would save my favorite days in the year where certain cutscenes fell so I could watch them. I think my fondest memories of this game are all the characters sitting at the food court in one innumerable occasion, discussing who they think murdered who. In the series of dialogue, you'll read detective mystery, teenage horseplay, and joking around while at the same time some endearing moments that will let you appreciate some moments in your own life. Persona on the whole is great I found because it can be a friend when you don't have one. If you have bad social skills, it can help you refine them. If you're looking for a good time, it has that too.

When I first saw the joycons during the Switch reveal I knew I wanted Samba de Amigo on the console, so to finally see it become a reality was great! Thankfully for the most part the controls have been responsive, even on harder difficulties. There's a lot to love here, like the random prompts you can get during a song that helps each run feel fresh, the many customization options for Amigo, the online modes, and the career mode StreamiGo! I'm making my way through it and it's been a good time, a bit of a challenge too! The song lineup here isn't half bad either, although I may biased because there's some Sega and Sonic tracks here and XS by Rina Sawayama LOL. Looking forward to the rest of the dlc tracks and I hope we get some more down the line. We are so back

Childlike wonder placed into a game, addicting bright lights that puts Cocomelon to shame.

The soundtrack and the visuals give this game a dreamy-like atmosphere. You're practically "Into Dreams" (get it?)

It's rewarding to get really good at this game. Seeing five As and then an overall A is probably the most satisfied I've ever been in terms of personal achievement via video game.

This game is so gorgeous. I recommend it to anyone who can breathe.

The playthrough that turned NiGHTS into one of my favourite games of all time. Fantastic controls and highly replayable gameplay lead to a game which constantly pushes you to do your best and to beat that last high score. Infinitely replayable. Fantastic game.

This is a game that kind of goes beyond words. The game is abstract enough to keep me coming back to it, wanting to see how deep the game really goes. The game is fun and fluid to control, and just the simple act of flying around is fun. Learning to master each level and find the optimal paths through each route to maximize bonus time score is exhilarating. The A-life system is also curious and provides an interesting personalization to each persons game file (even if 99.99% of players have ZERO IDEA how that system works.) The plot is even a heartwarming story about overcoming anxieties and finding your way, even if the CG for the cutscenes is a little scary by todays standards. This is just one of those games that I adore from both a gameplay and vibe perspective. It probably isn't for everyone as I'm sure the abstract nature of literally everything would confuse people enough to stop playing, but it hit all the right notes for me. There is a modern port to PC that some diehard fanatics swear against because of control issues but ngl they feel pretty much identical to me so I think it's a solid way to play if you don't have a sega saturn lying around.

Replayed on Switch for the first time in a really long time. The X are a really cool enemy concept, and I like the huge space station setting and the paranoid atmosphere as the SA-X tracks you through the ship. A few problems that hold this back from being on the same level as Super Metroid or Metroid Dread:

- As many have said, the inclusion of dialogue and Samus's internal monologue is totally unnecessary and messes with the spare, mysterious narrative style of these games.
- The use of navigation rooms and map checkpoints makes this far too linear, especially in the way it sometimes locks you into taking a certain path after you visit a navigation room. At the end of the game when I was trying to get all of the items I missed, I kept having to take comically roundabout paths to avoid going through a navigation room and getting locked into the endgame.
- SA-X occasionally destroys certain doors making them completely unusable for the rest of the game, but these are never marked on the map. It makes navigating the map to collect the items you missed really annoying because you inevitably find yourself in situations where you're one room away from where you're trying to get to, only to realize the door is destroyed and you have to backtrack and find another way around.
- There is an energy tank that is impossible to get after a certain point in the game, even if you haven't initiated the endgame yet! I ended up with 98% completion because of this. Really irritating.

Still enjoy it a lot despite these flaws, it's just frustrating that this was so close to being a nearly perfect Metroid game only to be held back by some stupid narrative and design decisions.

Handles the self-insert character better than Forces

I have my nitpicks but who cares, it's fun and worthwhile enough April Fool's fanservice for Sonic fans. Amy Rose being a fan of true crime podcasts is a lore detail that was retrospectively obvious, yet brave.

Umineko: When They Cry (They cry because they can't compete with the GOAT Sonic)

Sonic Adventure 2 isn't just a game. It's hard for me to convey in words how important this game is both to me personally and to an amount of people I interact with. It's like a cultural cornerstone made into a video game. You didn't just play Sonic Adventure 2, you experienced it. lived it, I guess. There is nothing about this game that I would change. If this game didn't exist society as we know it would be totally different. From the incredible soundtrack, the anime as hell plot, the 3 different character playstyles, and the chao garden, everything in this game goes hard. You owe it to yourself to play this one, especially if you like other sonic the hedgehog games. Shadow the hedgehog is the coolest character to ever be designed by mankind. This isn't like a joke review, I'm deadass serious about all of this.
