It crashes, made some longer missions almost unplayable till i found a fix
Once I got that fix though
Pure Kino
Jacket's scenario peak
Biker's scenario peak
Additional missions were really fun
It seems I do like hurting people

In truth this is probably like a 2/5 but I was so bored and disappointed throughout that I just kinda felt sad playing it.
Might change upon replay but I don't think that'll happen any time soon

Completed like 3 full runs where I got to the end gonna play more before leaving a proper review but it's peak atmospheric survival horror with a wonderful style and OST

Final fantasy VI is wonderful and probably the best pre PSX final fantasy game and rivals the ones after
Silly clown get's jailed for war crimes and breaks out to commit more war crimes

Setzer, Locke, Edgar and Sabin were personal favourites apart from the main protagonist Terra, who is just wonderful.

The game heavily explores love and what it means to love and to be loved. Terra representing someone caught between two worlds having feelings she doesn’t understand really resonated with me, especially at the point in my life I’m at now.

But it shows that instead of a divided love, and instead of needing to choose, she’s loved by both. All parts of her have and deserve to be loved. She’s a wonderful protagonist and someone that I loved more over the course of the story

On the opposite end we have Kefka. Fucking Kefka, where do you even start with such a perfect antagonist. Clowns work wonders as antagonists, the use of insanity is always so fun to experience in a villain and Kefka embodies that perfectly.

The game is wonderful, I’ll probably come back to this review and make it better over on backloggd but yeah this is wonderful

Endings got: Blademaster, Sacrifice
Who knew a random ass megaten adjacent dreamcast game would blow up the way it did huh
This was never on any list of mine, never clocked it as actually being a game. Thankfully Exellocks and Drifter hopped on and spread the word of peak
It's a really fun game with a weirdly in depth first person action sword fighting combat I was not expecting a company like Atlus to do.
The only reason it doesn't get any higher is that I feel like it doesn't delve into its characters enough, anyone outside of the blade masters and hakke just feels left to the side. with only 1 ending where you're able to play as Kay who I wish we got more ability to play since she controls really well and I just really like her character.
Also near the end some areas just feel like you can't get through without taking damage and something you'll just need to tank.
While I adore what true blademaster did with the optional ending FMV, Sacrifice is probably my favourite ending, the reveals as well as the ability to fight the final boss with the true main character just felt like a perfect end to the game.
So True Blade Master has the best story end while Sacrifice has the best playable end

As of writing 198.7%
It’s peak

Symphony
this shit set a precedent and one half of the reason metroidvanias as a genre exists, it’s a piece of history and one that I feel like I can say is perfect
Alucard as a protagonist and his relationship with the castle and how everything intertwines creates something magical

Overture
The castle just feels fucking good to go through, it’s got the resident evil feeling of by the end of the game knowing it like the back of your hand and how you interact with every minute hallway

Sonata
Alucard is a joy to control, it just feels fluid, it feels nice it has this connection and game feel that’s just perfect, if only he knew how to go faster than a light jog.

Coda
All that to say combat just feels good, connecting, responsive it’s just fucking fun to play and fight and explore through this sprawling maze to find power ups that all feel useful and a genuine part of the arsenal that you consistently use
There’s a reason this game is ranked among the greats and inspired so many, it’s so damn good

Spoilers from this point on

Aria
I didn’t know how I’d think about the upside down castle segment as I didn’t like it in bloodstained but here it felt good tbh, not as good as the first exploration of the right side up but it felt nice to play through this warped variant of this place you’ve come to know so well
Especially when it’s the place that’s the most fucked up and the most evil monsters and bosses dwell, it justifies itself and doesn’t come off as just lazy padding.

I found this by chance scrolling through twitter seeing it liked by Happy Paintings the dev of Fear and Hunger and it being a free RPGMaker game on steam I jumped at the oppurtunity to play it.

And my thoughts
It's really fucking good
It's a fun, atmospheric rpgmaker game with a gripping story and cast of characters I was attached to. The main duo, playing as an already together couple in games is very rare, especially ones with such a realistic romantic chilled out dynamic, you can tell they truly love each other.

The combat is mainly your standard rpgmaker affair, has some strategy involved especially in the later areas when you get access to the world map
I've currently been playing through the early FF titles and
this reminded me of the airship traversal and feeling of freedom you get.

Instant death attacks are common but due to the skills you obtain and easy access to recovery items it just feels like another part of the battle you need to work around.

The only real issue I had with it is that a lot of the missions are just kinda go here, kill a thing, especially when you get to the crossroads it just feels generic in the direction and orders given.

Overall a really quick fun and interesting game hope it get's much more attention

Good start, really intriguing sets up good

This shit's really good and an almost perfect sequel to an already amazing game the characters both new and old are a wonderful addition.

Date's characterisation takes a hit in this game his dynamic with Mizuki and Aiba feels much more antagonistic than it did in AI1.
This game suffers from being advertised as able to be played without playing the first. There are people and events mentioned that make no sense if you've not played the first and the impacts on the writing are heavily felt

Saying that, it's still an amazing game and I'm really excited for the next thing Uchikoshi puts out next.
Same with the first I couldn't stop grinning throughout the ending dance scene

Ryuki Diverge is the peak

Blasphemous is gorgeous
It plays with Catholic iconography and style to make something truly remarkable.

Even with this the gameplay doesn't take a back seat, it's strong, responsive and really fucking fun to slice and slash through the dissolving world of the miracle.

I have an issue with the endgame they get a bit too trigger happy with the instant death spike pits and some of the Miriam's challenges are just unfair and took me longer than any boss to beat.

I wasn't able to 100% my first run only able to get a 99.8 due to me equiping the pure heart of the Mea Culpa leaving me unable to get 2 items needed for 100%.

The game doesn't feel like a pain to explore which is important for metroidvanias, both the level design and art make it a joy to see every inch of.

The game is wonderful and had a grip on me throughout the time I played it, I will be going back to get ending B, but I have gotten A and C

It's silly
Play while constipated for the full experience

Fun quick little game, with even the most basic endings still having their own energy that makes it interesting.
Would recommend if you're looking for some quick fun rpgmaker horror

Omori if it was good???????
Unironically you can tell that Omori took heavy influence from this game
End Roll was amazing, it's just really good, everything that's amazing about RPG Maker games End Roll has and does brilliantly
I really got attached to the whole cast and Russel's journey being your own in terms of you going out of your way to care and help being the same for the rest of the cast and that having an effect on the experience was wonderful, I felt sad and guilty on Russel's behalf
Russel is a really good silent protag, knowing what he's seen and experienced, it makes sense he doesn't talk much. But since the whole game is based around his experiences, the world is what gives Russel his in depth characterisation as well as the story and characters.
Anyway I think his final crime was justifiable imo, but no one else deserved what happened

It's amazing
The only real critique I have is even though the combat is good it can feel grating after a while. I was trying to avoid pretty much every encounter in the end game.
The side missions are really short, sweet things that each have their own story.
It's just it's peak
The ending fucking hurts
Zack is literally me
Good Night
