Ashes of Ariandel is a great short DLC that doesn't include anything that it doesn't need and follows through with an amazing final boss. The DS3 Base game was amazing, and it was hard to imagine how this DLC could seem on par; however, that was proved wrong quickly after experiencing the initial atmosphere and setting. My favourite part of this DLC, I think, were the interactions with the NPCs and their dialogue. I'm not quite sure why they felt different compared to the base game, but they seemed as if they spoke with more purpose, which added to the immersion.

Got The Sun ending for reference:

Imma miss  Johnny Silverhand, Panam, Kerry and all of the characters in this game, this game really makes you get attached. Going to move on and continue into the Phantom Liberty DLC next then complete the other endings. 10/10 game, CD Projekt Red have done it again.

"Only hope you've got is they feel a pang and stop to wait" Johnny Silverhand

It was an insanely well-made game. It took a while for it to stick, but once it did, I played it for hours on end. Kim is one of the best side characters. The writing of this game makes it so much more than a game and you'll notice this the more you progress and dive into it. It's also really cool to know it took inspiration from one of my favourite TV shows, True Detective Season 1.

Could honestly be a five star game and may change to one in the future.

Dark Souls 3 is Dark Souls 1 and 2, with everything improved and all the good from 1 and 2 tripled. I can't wait to start the two DLCs. (Lorian and Lothric literally took me as long as Isshin with a Farron greatsword, wtf.)

Great gameplay, particularly for 1998. However, it's just an average story, at least so far. Enough to keep me interested in trying Half-Life 2, though.

The Alien Controllers are just as annoying as the Yanme'e in Halo Reach.

Got to stage 9 and realised this and its genre probably isn't for me I think. I want to like the game because of its style and everything but this is another world of difficult compared to dark souls or anything. I highly respect it as a game though.

Armoured Core VI is a game developed and published by FromSoftware and directed by Masaru Yamamura. It is yet another title that met all expectations fans and the like had upon hearing of its development. The moment I saw that FromSoftware released a new trailer, upon watching it, I was hooked. It is no surprise that FromSoftware develops some of the greatest games, and AC6 is no exception.

I've never played a mech game before, but I'm glad I have now. With its fast-paced and fluid combat, there is nothing that comes close to it, and paired with the customisation and number of builds that are possible, it opens up so many opportunities to tackle situations in different ways. Each gun and each body part have a certain feel and weight to them, and each build feels completely unique.

Visually, the game is gorgeous each moment, and despite whether during gameplay or cutscenes, it feels like a movie throughout, which led me to find myself taking hundreds of screenshots.

The bosses are crazy, especially pre-nerf Balteus, who was basically a huge skill check like Genichiro in Sekiro. The other bosses were all well made, and there were thankfully no gimmick or reused bosses within the game.

"I won't miss."

"I have one last job for you: find your freedom."

Vanquish is a game that was clearly made with a lot of passion with the main goal of purely just being fun and I think a lot of newer games need to take note of that again.

Oh man, where do I begin with Metal Gear Solid? I've always heard a lot about the series and have always meant to get into it. This was the first time playing one of the metal gear games aside from the Snake Eater demo on 3DS on repeat years and years ago.

What a journey! My expectations were high, and yet I was still impressed. Don't get me wrong, the game has a couple issues, but they are all pretty much gameplay-focused, which is no fault of the game considering it was released in 1998.

Despite the game being janky at times (these PS1 controls are the death of me), it doesn't take away from the fact that this game is still an amazing piece of media that I think everyone should give a chance, and this is coming from someone who isn't too big on stealth games and the like. I believe what made this game special and clicked for me was just how much life each character had within them and how each character interacted with each other. While playing MGS1, I found myself smiling throughout, which is quite the reaction for the game to achieve, especially when half of it is from codec calls. One of my favourite parts of the game were the cutscenes. Throughout the game, there are many cutscenes, some small and some quite lengthy, but each and every one of them is a lot of fun to watch. I guess it goes to show that a game truly does not need all the tools that developers now have to be beyond great.

The story has depth to it; in my opinion, the pacing is great and doesn't drag at any points, and to my surprise, the boss fights were really fun and memorable, with my particular favourite being the cyborg ninja.

Ive had very high expectations for the series, not so much MGS1; however, I am very happy with the time I spent with it, and I'm excited to see where the story goes from here. Now I just have to decide whether to play the 2nd and 3rd on the Vita, PS2, or PS3, so if anyone reads this and has a recommendation, please let me know :)

The bitterness of death and the joys of life

Signalis is a game with so much depth that you could delve into it for hours upon hours after finishing the game, exploring each and every little detail. Looking into the lore is crazy. The soundtrack of the game is phenomenal and sets the tone for the game perfectly (it's now all in my playlist).

The art is beautiful to the point where I felt the need to screenshot every second when a cutscene played.

The gameplay is not its strong suit, not to say it's bad; it's enough to carry the game until the very end and not deter from a replay either, but nonetheless, the game should be played with other factors in mind instead, as that's where it truly shines.

Here's a quote from the game below, and if it interests you in the slightest, then I highly recommend checking this game out.

"It is calling to me from below.
the song of a god
that whispers to the sleeping.
A dark sun is setting.
Over the black ocean
a red eye in the sky
staring, unblinking, forever
and deep below the earth.
await answers to questions
yet unasked"

Once finished with the game, I definitely recommend watching some videos diving into the lore and what people think the true story is. Although I do believe the best way to experience this game is to go in blind and play before watching anything of the sort.

Ghostrunner -

The first game of 2024 has now been completed. This game was a lot of fun; the visuals and scenery were great; the music matched the cyberpunk theme perfectly; and the gameplay was fluid and had depth to it. I completed the game within 6 and a half hours, and although it was not too long, it didn't feel drawn out at any point. Despite the game getting carried by its movement and combat, the story that was there, although not much, was interesting and helped to keep me entertained through to the end. It was a solid game, for sure, and it has made me want to check out the second one eventually. (Hel didn't know that I had already beaten Isshin and had no chance lolllllllll.)

Completed all endings, only issue was ending B for me as it was pretty slow to get into as a lot of it was a repeat. However, the rest of the game easily makes up for it. The OST is amazing too.

you play the album and the album is very good

Leon Kennedy and Ada Wong look different here

Onimusha Warlords was fun with a few interesting bosses however there were some problems with it such as almost no skippable cutscenes which meant running back to a boss was even more tedious and just the whole Marcellus fight in general. Besides that though the game was fun, very similar to an re game but with swords, story was pretty average but the game wasnt too long or dragged at any points.
