Fun with friends, but not well made

Played about 3 hours of this before putting aside. The Indian Mythology theme is very fresh and cool and would love to see more in that mythos. The art style is gorgeous and the art design across the board is great, especially for attack effects. Platforming is great and feels really fluid and fun. Audio and Music is great too, again really sweet to see Indian stuff in games, where it is not represented at all. Narrative is presented nicely but is fairly generic

Unfortunately despite having all this going for it the combat system is incredible repetitive and boring. Effectively what this leads to is every 20 seconds of walking round this beautiful world, you are forced to stop and spam a few buttons for 2 minutes. Extremely tedious to say the least. I'd have loved to explore that world, doing the platforming and experiencing the story, but having most of the playtime be something so boring isn't for me, would've preferred it to have the combat taken out

A lot of good ideas, executed very poorly. The dungeons are fantastic and the world and monster design once you get past the incredibly dull first 10 hours are great.

Narrative:
The narrative is fine, fairly standard light vs dark, chosen one storyline. The game tries to build up relationship between the boys but most of the time this either feels unearned and forced or just badly done.

Quest Design:
90% of the numerous side quests are the most boring and worst designed side quests I've played in a long time. I've not played a game that respects your timeless than this in a long time, most of the playtime of the game is just walking/driving from point to point, which is most often dull.

The main story quest design fares a lot better and is, for the most part, a lot more enjoyable. Barely any of it is amazing but compared to the side quests, they're much better.

Combat:
The combat is the worst combat system I've played in a long time, requiring zero skill due to the fact that if you get to zero health you become practically invulnerable for like 30 seconds and then can just use healing item and be revived, so your real health bar is the number of items. I didn't die or feel like I was at any risk of dying through the whole game, even when attempting a dungeon double my level. It has some cool ideas like the link attacks, magic system and warp strikes, but all of them are poorly executed. Weird to have the summons just happen randomly. choosing to use the royal weapons felt like a weird decision because of the fact they hurt you and do only slightly more damage than usual ones. Also, the game does a terrible job at explaining the combat to the player.

Very similar to the first spiderman game, not that that's a terrible thing, but do feel like I basically just replayed the first one. Still, a joy to swing through a 1:1 recreation of Manhattan and explore it. Enough variety in the gameplay types to keep it feeling fresh while playing it. I think the narrative is slightly weaker than 2019's Spiderman, but the characters are great and do have good moments. Combat feels better.

All the side mission/collectable types either are the same or weaker designs than the original which is a shame seeing as they constitute the majority of the game. Enemy variety is about the same as the original which is good for only having humanoid gang enemies.

Would've preferred more supervillain fights as they were one of the main highlights of the original. Having the side missions just leading to fisk saying hi was boring af, compared to previous side-missions leading to optional supervillain fights.

Other than the combat i'd say every aspect of it is the same as original or not as good which is a shame, but still enjoyable, especially if not played the original.

Solidly fun Mario-3D-land style platformer, with a lot of unique mechanic ideas and fairly charming throughout. Music levels are the highlight, similar to the Rayman legends music levels but 3D. Controls pretty well for nearly all of it. Has the same thing as LBP3 where the soundtrack and level of charm is good and better than a lot of games but nowhere near LBP1/2 levels.

Feels like they could've done some more fan service of having areas based on the parts of craftworld from the earlier games and having some of the older music and characters in there rather than all new stuff which can at times feel generic.

Great level of player driven challenge, if you're going for all the optional stuff and acing the levels then it's probably one of the hardest platformers on the market, up there with hollow knight endgame, but if youre just going through for the story then it won't be too much trouble.

Think it's probably a bit too long, about 1/2 through about half of the levels stop introducing new ideas and feel like padding and are a slog to get through which is a shame compared to the first half where every level introduces a new concept or mechanic.

Overall a solid platformer with good level of charm and design and fresh ideas but overall has a level of generic-ness and padding that stops it from being fantastic.

The hitboxes on the crabs can fuck right off tho

A rare good 40k game. Xcom-like strategy game with tons of unique mechanics and fresh ideas to it that all fit the narrative and setting to a tee, the dialogue and narrative events are well written and great to see the ad-mech represented properly for the first time in a 40k game, having the different sub-factions represented within too was great. Visual diversity between enemies and areas is pretty good but would've like to see more mechanical diversity across those too. Pretty much every enemy you just shoot till it dies without having to think about their mechanics (apart from the lychguard). Bosses all feel great and unique. The normal missions get quite repetitive after about halfway through the game, where it does feel like a slog to get through them. All in all a solid strategy game with a lot of fresh unique ideas that are tied to a well written narrative in the gigantic 40k universe but some problems.

Great narrative game with minimalistic nautical control console visuals about discovering and cataloguing an alien sea and the first non-human life that's been found within. Can be slow and backtrack-y at parts, but overall satisfying controlling the dive suit as it's very tactile to use. The narrative is interesting and unique, although to me it ended unsatisfyingly.

Theres often some conflict between all the nicely written text and you needing to move quickly through dangerous waters, so you end up missing a lot of text or dialogue because you cant waste time reading it, which is a shame. You get all the necessary information, its just extra fluff that's missed.

Very satisfying and natural reward system for collecting all the specimens across the ocean

Very good, beautiful new entry into the ratchet and clank series, using new mechanics only possible on next gen consoles. Great story and characters, classic fun r&c gameplay.

Some minor gripes like lack of humour from not having most of the series' comic relief characters in it (quark, Helga, Al, any funny alien races etc) and some weapons feel underdeveloped and conservative with their lvl 5 upgrades, whereas previous entries in the series have gone hogwild with them and are much more fun as a result. Clank puzzles great but not enough of them (nothing like the optional harder clank puzzles in ACIT). Incredible animations and combat enemy barks. Fantastic set pieces. Worst arena of any R&C game

Fun puzzle game with unique mechanic around a recursive world, where if you affect a small model of the world it affects the world you're in and then the bigger world outside of you too. Doesn't go crazy in depth with this mechanic but keeps it short and sweet and explores lots of different simple puzzles that can come from it.

Bittersweet breakup story as it's narrative that is well written and makes you feel for characters but ultimately although both the narrative and gameplay are good, they are relatively seperate and don't reinforce each other.

Controls can be a bit clunky on occasion. Good soundtrack. Pretty visuals.

Fun little unique action puzzle game that's carried by its overflowing charm and creative designs of the bugsnax. Does everything it sets out to do
