Ishin is an excellent 'What If?' type story in the Yakuza-verse, and continues the franchises tradition of balancing a intense, gritty story alongside slapstick-level side missions. An easy recommendation for all.

My one word of warning will be that it feels like the game needed a deep-dive video on Japanse history for westerners as clueless as me - it really throws you in the deep end!

Just finished this in one sitting - it was good! Definitely carried hard by it's atmosphere, but it told a complete, solid story with some interesting turns and one stand out scare, which you can't really fault for a free 2 hour experience.

Where it falls down though are the chase scenes, which are super generic and often frustrating/unfocused feeling. Given that these segments are the most gameplay heavy parts of the demo it does unfortunately tarnish the experience a little.

Robocop feels like one of those mid-budget PS2 games that you'd pick up on a trip to your local game store without giving much thought, only to find yourself going to bat for it 15 years later on forums because of how much of an impression it left on you.

It's rough around the edges, and a bit clunky towards the end, but it is such a perfect homage to the film franchise and so much fun that it ultimately rises above the issues.
