Some aspects of this game have kinda worn thin on me if just for how overhyped zelda is as a franchise but goddamn if this isn't the best balance of adventure and combat the series ever had. How the fuck was this made in 1991

My favorite Zelda mechanically but I wish it did more as a LttP sequel. It's so safe and sterile narratively.

10/10 right out the gate that slowly devolves into a 6/10 over time. Best gameplay feel of a 3D Zelda bar none, though the story and worldbuilding is stock-AAA dryness. I know the JP version had some stronger moments and worldbuilding secrets that got localized out (fuck you nintendo) so I can't be too mad about it

One of the only Zelda games I've played that didn't have a 'holy shit I DESPISE this' moment. Pretty solid overall.

kino game with an unplayable framerate and all the issues with enemy and environment variety that plagued botw. Also kinda does nothing as a prequel and feels like that was tacked on just for marketing

I DESPISED this when I played it in middle school but in hindsight I think that's because I was a 'durrr i only play games for the gameplay' person at the time and I ran it on a blurry HD TV via composite with bad input delay. I respect it a lot more now and I'd love to go back to it the right way

This formula's pretty cool, it's just that it's got that Certified NES Bullshit. I'd kind of like to see Zelda return to platforming someday.

I never finished this one while I did finish Ages but I think had I finished this I would've liked this a bit more. I never was all that fond of Zelda's idea of 'puzzles' and I think it worked better as a vanilla action-adventure game.

Honestly I can't really speak too much on this game's quality, I'd have to replay it to re-affirm my feelings on it. My first run was on a PSP when I was 11 and I didn't form any opinion on it, I was just a massive consoomer at that age

I'm definitely the kind of person who will take mediocre gameplay if the setting and aesthetic makes up for it but I always put my foot down if the gameplay is actively 'bad'.
Majora's Mask's dungeons and overall progression are some of the worst in any zelda game I've ever played.

I know this is a petty complaint everyone throws at Link's Awakening but the constant item switching killed any possible fun I could have with this. I'd like to play the remake tho.

I can't really comment on how good this is cause i got stuck on 2-2 but honestly i have no desire to see if it was good anyway
