A refinement of the katamari formula.

The peak of the katamari experience. Not a five due to the fact that some levels in the cd are locked as DLC

Fun, endearing, perfect for short bursts or for the perfectionist trying to optimize all routes. A joy of a videogame

Superb tale. Hard to talk about it without going into specifics of the plot. Could be a 5 star, but the translation has some quirks here and there, especially in the parts where modern speech is brought in. Incredibly personal tale, benefits from not having a “world at stake” driven plot, but still accomplished a grand encompassing scope with a limited set of characters. Manages to delve into some unexpected topics as well that did leave me surprised. Haunting soundtrack superbly employed to drive urgency and escalation in major plot events.

Beautiful game and would probably warrant a higher rating were I a fan of rail shooters.

Influential and a monumental piece that celebrates the minutiae of a small town. A game of conflicting scopes that encapsulates the merits of game design driven by vision instead of design by committee.

The sega blue skies game, a fun adventure that is supremely endearing. Soundtrack elevates the package

Despite the glossy look and the vibrant color palette, this is a bleak game with some heavy undertones. An interesting tale of the risks of blind devotion and misguided faith. Very fun combat as well

An SMT game with urgency and stakes built into its plot. Difficulties unbalances add to the scenario, as it does mimic what an haphazard situation this would be in the real world setting. I’m not entirely keen on some of the plot elements at the end, but the lockdown scenario is really well made

Maybe the best final fantasy. Clearly a bit unfinished in places, but it’s pouring with heart and love. Blissful soundtrack and fun gameplay.

How they made a game with corridors so immersive is beyond me. First act is incredible, an escalation of events that really grip you. Second act starts strong but meanders a bit, but game finishes strong with the push through the cathedral. Amazing soundtrack as well. Wild difficulty peaks (get Ganesha in Ginza) and corridor design of dungeons can put many people off, but the story is really well made for how small the script is.

Certified classic. Played at launch as a kid, barely understood what happened after playing the first metal gear. Replayed multiple times growing up. Ages like the finest of wines and a subversion of expectations feat that most assuredly couldn’t be pulled of in the current landscape

Could be a 5 but the island drags a bit. Village and castle carry the game

Stunning game that balances perfectly a serious story with having fun. Ending made me cry.

Quite the terrible story. The exploration and fighting is cool, but the need to have a level close to the enemies to be able to make noticeable damage make it too boring. Letdown of an ending as well
