Dang, you see the thing I'm learning with these old Java games is that they can have different versions that vary pretty significantly depending on what device someone had, and in this case the only one I could comfortably emulate was LAME. It felt very phoned in (pun not intended) with bland levels made up of the same handful of assets. Enemies also tend to block a lot more now, which doesn't make battles any more challenging or complex it just increases the amount of time you sit there mashing the attack key outside of the couple of insect foes who require you to jump over them to reach their weak spot. The only new idea here is a few tedious chase sequences and the whole experience concludes in a frustrating boss encounter that you only have a limited method of doing damage to and has a move that can basically kill you in a single hit. The worst part of all is I looked up what the option for people with more powerful phones was like. Doesn't seem to be anything all that special compared to the earlier mobile PoP games, but man is it a heck of a lot more interesting than what I played. So a fat L for me and a rare disappointment from retro Gameloft.

5/10

Okaish Donkey Kong Country like - but much easier.
The Main Game is a bit Short with only 3 different Worlds with like 10 Levels each but its fun and it looks pretty.

Theres an additional world (DLC?) With another 9 entertaining Level and a new Mode.

I like that you can switch between old and new graphics even though the old graphics dont have any music?

This aside its the same game as it was on my PS2. If this is good or not it depends on if you liked it back then or not.

Dude AAA game developers must be shitting their pants right now

Really fun game, i liked it alot c:

You can literally see the team running out of time (or rather budget) the further you get into the collection.

Refreshing to play a horror game that can still surprise you with its narrative even if the gameplay sections could've been executed better

Remedy's comedic horror writing and cinematography keeps being their biggest strength. I respect the direction of the new combat system, but it's sadly undermined by poor encounter design, level structure and balance issues.

This is one of the most solid 5/10s I've ever played in my entire life.
Watch a bit of connected gameplay and you'll immediately know whether you'll like this or not. I think it's pretty aight.

I played through all of KH in 2023 and let me tell you, it took them a lot of games to finally make one that's better than the first. A few weird bosses (this is gonna be a recurring pattern so don't worry about it) but apart from that it's a fantastic experience.
Highly recommend this even if you don't wanna play through the rest.

One of the most well-realised games I've ever played. The story deals with some stuff you probably won't understand (namely Japanese politics), the combat is very shallow (but perfectly fine) and the puzzles are easy but none of that matters. Just play it and you'll see what I mean.

Who would've thought this would still be one of the best video games ever after making it look nicer and accessible to more people.
The artifact hunt is perfectly fine by the way. Don't be a wuss.

Who could've guessed that remaking one of the best games ever made would result in 5 stars
