This game is the most confusing in the Souls series. Honestly, it was the easiest in the series for me. I was able to beat the game with only a plus-one weapon. I don't think I even played it right, so I will probably replay it again and figure out the world tendency mechanic. Overall, I love the graphics remake. It's nice to see where the Souls series began and the early ideas that were implemented in later games.
This game came at the perfect time because I was getting tired of the medieval style of the Souls games, and the Gothic and Lovecraft art styles sold it to me! The bosses were awesome. Each area felt unique and different, and it had the perfect difficulty! The DLC is what brought this game to a 4.5/5 because that DLC expanded the lore and gave the most memorable bosses. My biggest complaint is the chalice dungeons because you had to grind all of them to get 100%. I should have spread them out, but it is still a grind. The framerate can get nasty sometimes, but you will get used to it. I loved 100% this game and would love to play it again.
I have a love-hate relationship with this game. At some points, it is fantastic and has some of the best moments in the Souls series, but it also has some lowest points. The ADP stat is the worst thing in Souls history. The things that carry this game for me are the lore and the DLC(except for Snow Reindeer Placee and blue Kool-Aid Man). I love the power stance mechanic. I wish it were in DS3!
