The New Order walked so DOOM (2016) could run. This game is balls to the wall action with a surprisingly investing story to boot. I did not expect this to be as dark as it is, but I am glad it goes the places it goes to.
I wish that there were more incentives to push the enemy as you are forced to hide behind cover a lot due to the amount of damage you take, especially on higher difficulties, but only in select encounters did it really hinder my experience.

It is good, but I forgot why.

In all seriousness, this is a good game. It just isn't as memorable as the others, which is a bummer as if this banged, it could have spawned more off shoots for the franchise, but what we got was good.

I mean, I'm not listing this game as a 5/5 because it is my favorite game. I'm doing it as I have nothing to nitpick or complain about. It is a perfect video game.

My ultimate guilty pleasure game that is really unhealthy for me to play. It is really, really fun especially with other people. I don't care how shitty the writing is or how much of a disaster pit the online is, it is GOOD.

The most tense I have been while playing a video game. It's short enough so it doesn't outstay its welcome and is long enough to really make you feel the struggle of escaping the asylum. I wish the story was a little less vague as it kinda drops the ball in the final area, but it's a minor complaint to an excellent package.

The scenes in the school were some of the most tense scenes in a video game. they were really well done and really made me interested in what really happened to Jessica.

I know there is a lore explanation for what happened at the end, there are comics that explain it and put it into context, but I really wish it was a bit more obvious that Mount Massive was behind everything. It really would have been a nice callback to the first game and would have linked everything together better, making the audience a lot more keen on the ending.

Only real complaint is that the boss fights kinda stink. The last one rules though.

Rest of the game is lightning in a bottle. This shit is gas.

Despite some poorly aged game mechanics, I had a fun time with this one. It was just dumb fun, something I really was looking for.

The worst aspect was some of the characters/writing. It's not offensive, but some stuff really hasn't aged very well and makes you cringe a little.

Artistically amazing, but some issues with controls and frustrating mechanics keep this from being a great game for me.

This game bangs so hard. The combat owns, the setting is awsome and the story is simple but very effective. A lot of little things like the reused enemy and boss fights do get old, but it is minor in the grand scheme of things.

Ever since the release of “The Last of Us” in 2013, there have been new benchmarks in storytelling blockbusters. In 2016, it was “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End,” and in 2018, it was “Red Dead Redemption 2.” Now, “God of War: Ragnarök” has set a new benchmark in not only having a fantastic story but being very entertaining to play.
It’s a marvel how far video game technology has advanced over the years. “God of War: Ragnarök” may not have won my game of the year vote, but it won my vote as a new benchmark in entertainment and as a storytelling blockbuster.

This game is such a blast. Add a shit ton of mods and your friends and you have one of the greatest co-op games ever made.

I have never enjoyed getting my ass kicked in a video game more than this. Every time I died, I always felt like it was my fault and genuinely felt I was getting better as I continued playing.
The final boss took me nearly 24 hours to beat, the most I spent trying to beat any enemy in any video game and when I finally won, the feeling was euphoric.

2016

This is me when the grand daddy of shooters comes in out of nowhere and makes one of the greatest shooters of the 2010s. It is SO fun and feels great. A shooter encouraging the player to get in the action is something that is surprisingly rare in the AAA market and I am glad that it is required to succeed as it forces you to get into the fun zone.

Also, one of the greatest OST in gaming. Justice for my boy MG.

This is already the greatest shooter of the 2020s and it isn't even close.
This is the game that got me into really challenging myself and pushing myself to actively get better at a game instead of just mindlessly ramming my head into a wall until something works. Every system and mechanic adds onto a main idea of you being the DOOM Slayer and once you get good, nothing else is like it.
