No Gods or Kings. Only Man.

BioShock captures Video Games as a medium and tells a story which wouldn't work in a book, movie, or anything else. To experience the story, one can simply play the main story from start to finish, but to understand it, one must explore, pay attention to all the details in the environment, hear out the audio logs, and consider the consequences of ones actions.

For a game that released in 2007, this game holds up incredibly well, and the gloomy atmosphere still looks good to this day.

The game that started the insanity that is The Binding of Isaac. It became an instant classic, with countless enemies, bosses, upgrades and combos.

This is the game that got me into indie games.

A game developer show you their projects, and tells you about the game, what is happening in their life, and how they are feeling.

It is an emotional story that grips you from start to finish.

This incredibly emotional game takes you through the main character's life. You control the game by literally blinking with your actual, real life eyes. By blinking, you move forward in time.

I can only recommend you play this game without reading more about it. Try not to blink too much while you cry.

The funny yet deadly BattleBlock Theater is a hilarious platformer. There's loads of gameplay, and lends itself very well to co-op play.

The cutscenes are childish and fun, and you feel yourself wanting to complete just one more chapter so you can hear the narrator explain what happens next. The game is full of charm, though does not do enough to mix up the level-level platforming action.

Among the sleep is a uniquely charming horror game where you play as a toddler as they struggle through a nightmarish world, looking for your mom with your companion Teddy.

The atmosphere is great, the puzzles are charming, however it is not particularly spooky.

A game that covers the life of your character while they struggle with daily ups and downs. The story is very down to earth, with plenty of choices which affect the ending of your story.

2018

A tightly packed puzzle game that takes place in just one long corridor, that changes depending on the puzzle at hand. Short and sweet, with a lot of attention to detail. If you are into walking simulators with some horror elements, you will enjoy this. Takes about an hour to complete.

After over 55 hours of gameplay, I must say that this is probably the most complete Fighting Game package to date. It has it all from a competitive ranked ladder, combo trials, detailed training mode, a full story, arcade missions, character customization and more.

Being able to choose between Classic or the more accessible Modern control scheme helps anyone who just wants to pick the game up get started. In local play, there is even an AI-assisted control scheme for those who never played fighters.

I cannot recommend this enough.

Absolutely fantastic experience. The story grips you from start to finish, the music is a joy to listen to, and the visuals are detailed and horrific in the best way.
