The peak of the Castlevania franchise, Aria of Sorrow is the purest refinement of the Igavania formula, and the true ending is fantastic

A pretty fun sandbox with a neat aesthetic

Certainly groundbreaking, but not quite timeless. Still, not bad.

A solid platformer, but with a few design quirks that grind my gears, such as the forest of illusion

this game feels like shit to play

Pretty good, but some of the combat feels a little rigid in hindsight

Really great comfy 3D platformer with beautiful environments

The mechanics are a little sloppy but the open world is solid and the story is fantastic

Undeniably foundational and certainly unique, but occasionally tedious and featuring some tiresome level design near the end.

Competent enough, but very bland to play. The gameplay is devoid of interesting choices and the writing falls flat as a criticism of objectivism, one of the easiest philosophies to criticize.

2016

A glorious return to form, filled to the brim with atmosphere and ultraviolence.
