Poefred's Collectathon Platformers Ranked

Collectathon platformers, otherwise known as "peak video games" I love all these games unless otherwise noted

This game's actually sick but the designers did a really good job hiding that fact. I insist I found a fun way to play this game.
I really don't like this or anything below it. BUT my opinions are always evolving, perhaps things could change~
Perhaps not a traditional platformer most of the time, but I still consider it to
be a collectathon in its core formula.
I gotta get around to replaying this one. I got near the end then my brother deleted my save file and I haven't touched it in over a decade.
This one is long overdue for an updated look, don't remember much but my subconscious is telling me I vibe with it.
I want to love Ape Escape more but I really just wish it would let you collect all monkeys on your first visit. Splitting the levels into 2 visits really hurts the pacing and "collect 'em all" element for me. Still, can't go wrong with funne monkey games.
The rare, coveted 2D collectathon. (Why'd Nintendo decide not to use the D-pad in this game. Gonna make an hour long video essay ranting about that someday)
