If you like/love hollow knight this is the one for you, forget clownsong.

Not much negative to say about this, the voice acting was pretty uneven especially sargon's which was pretty weak. Story also seemed to have unresolved threads? But idk, maybe teasers or secret stuff. Where was the lost crown in all this?

Remaster version like the other 2

Definitely the weakest entry of the 3, it has some good highs, some good puzzles, a good balance of combat, but the lows are pretty low, especially some vehicle sections. The level design can be extremely cheap and gotcha, with some puzzles being way too cryptic and some secrets probably impossible to find without a guide.

Still decent, and it wouldn't take too much to make it way better. I liked the "pick your adventure" aspect, and it kept the locations fresh.
A bit weird that the remaster didn't fix a soft lock I encountered in the infamous aldwych level, forcing me to restart the level after an hour of exploration.

Remastered version too, I decided to do a "no healing" challenge run, but turns out there was no achievement for it.. welp. Also did all secrets.

Good follow up to the first, pretty different levels and atmospheres, a lot of semi-hitscan enemies but you can learn to manage them all. The platforming was good, I just didn't like a couple levels that were very action oriented (notably tibetan foothills and dragon lair). Venice section is fun, "ocean" section maybe has one too many levels, tibet was really good except that intro level, and then the last stretch has some very solid dungeon crawling, maybe temple of xian is a little too big though.
I did all secrets for this, but I had to have a guide on the side to make sure I didn't miss any, since a few levels have points of no return and therefore missable secrets, that's very unfortunate.

Played remaster version, pistols only
Pretty solid game, good platforming, good puzzles that are never too tough but satisfying, combat is OK, except in the last third which introduces really obnoxious enemies

Some secrets were a little random or cheap, sort of enforcing a guide if you want them all

Really neat little game, close to obra dinn but much more contained.
Art style is probably not for everybody, and a couple mysteries are a little too complicated you may end up brute forcing a little.

DLC was good too, first one pretty tough, second one with a little gimmick to add some layering

Really good at amosphere and vibes once again, they tried some stuff with the gameplay but most of it didn't land for me unfortunately.
Wake's writing stuff had good potential but it feels like trial and error, and Saga's mind place was even worse in that regard, just trying random stuff.
The action gameplay part was also mostly fine, but way too sluggish and janky to be enjoyable in some parts, especially near the end. Bugged reload animations often mean death, etc.

Lots of collectibles and puzzles I didn't feel like doing, the hidden stashes and mini puzzles with them were ok though.

Thank god Barry didn't come back, and Ahti is the MVP.

An interesting narrative but it's let down by its very tedious gameplay. I even like the episode idea but it's just a slog. And fucking hell Barry.

Nobody would care if it was called metroid bread
9h 100%
Really good game, liked lots of things, a couple issues but nothing bad that stood out

- Big map was nice, but the loading times were rough
- Cool new items (but a couple that are very underused since they came late)
- Map is GREAT. Got the 100% without a guide
- Feels good to play, just didn't love aiming in general
- Difficulty was pretty good, maybe a boss or 2 hurt too much ?
- Speaking of bosses, felt like there weren't many for the first half, and the back half had a lot and a lot of repeats (chozo warriors). Final boss was tough but satisfying to learn (took like 6 tries)
- EMMIs were ok trying to emulate SA-X but overstayed their welcome a bit. 3 or 4 instead of 6 would feel better imo, have a couple areas free of them
- Exploration was nice, though a lot of one way doors (annoying for clearing) and very railroaded (makes sense with the size of the world, but hollow knight solved this with several critical paths for everything)
- Music was serviceable, this could use more bangers, don't be ashamed to pull from super/prime etc
- Area design was a bit same-ish : industrial, water bit, jungle bit, fire bit. You can do a bit more considering this isn't stuck on GBA or SNES
- Story was OK, liked the "twist" halfway through, final twists were fine

Overall really nice, def recommend, be prepared for a hard time.
If I had to rank it with other 2D metroids, it would come sliiiightly below super and above ZM/fusion, don't care too much for 1/2

A good time from start to finish, a couple tedious levels and one or 2 nitpicks with controls, but this was pretty good. Some levels could be chunkier and maybe not every one needs a wonder flower I guess. Boss encounters were also an afterthought.

Generally a good sign when I start a second playthrough before finishing the first.
And then start a third playthrough before finishing the second.
And already thinking about starting a fourth before reaching act 2 in the third.

Fun game but very short. Narrative was.. alright. A couple very frustrating encounters especially the last one, but fine.

I can't believe how little filler this has. Pure action start to finish, what an accomplishment. TP would never.

I could come up with a list of minor nitpicks and improvements, but the fact remains that this puts BOTW to shame. And that's quite a feat.
So exciting the entire way through, so many cool new things, so much life in that world. 120 hours of playtime and not one bug encountered. Took me about 110 hours to beat the main story + all shrines and some side content, and I'm still sticking around for all the fun stuff you can find and do. One for the ages.

Dangerously addictive, thankfully if you just want to complete "most of it" it's not excessively long.

Had a good time with what I played, but the overtuned fights and bad fight designs (overwhelmed party, terrible placement, etc) that encourage save scumming just aren't interesting
Other than that it was fun but those encounters really just killed the game for me (the one that made me drop it was the one near the entrace of Arx). That and all the cheap stuff that make you just skip a turn because fuck you.
