Like another game I played that I gave a 7/10 (Doom 64), the last level was both awesome and shit.

Highly recommend players to not play for more than 90 minutes at a time. Whew.

Both Deltarune games seem to have the problem of elongated epilogues in my eyes, and after all those battles and adventures and stuff I already want the game to finish, not 10 minutes of Kris ripping out his soul. It's a personal issue but it kind of puts a damper to the overall games as they're otherwise incredibly charming and enjoyable works with funny dialogues, heartfelt characters, a big improvement on art design from Undertale, and an interesting and fun combat system. Chapter Two's gameplay diversity is a really good step in the right direction for this series and I can't wait to see where else Deltarune will go.

Don't care if I potentially missed the point or whatever have you, God was that annoying and empty of effort and content and good use of your time.

At least meta games (or ones that challenge the medium) like Pony Island or Cruelty Squad have something worthwhile to say or offer to the player, and have a GAME built around itself despite unorthodox elements. I just found this profoundly pointless. No <3

Charming, funny, warm, absurdist, and filled to the brim with cute details; Basically what I expect for a game based on Tux and Fanny. I'm not too familiar with the point and click genre so some of the puzzles and mysteries feel pretty redundant at times (that might be in fault of me being a dumbass idk), but other than that nagging issue lies a game that's very pleasant and fun in the moment.

I do appreciate the emphasis on timing and the anxiety you have to face when stuck in a sterile setting, giving the game some atmosphere and (admittedly) decent jumpscares. I also like how this is magnified because of the amateurish animatronic CG models.

Unfortunately, once the novelty wears off the limited gameplay and setting gets the better of it. Despite being short I still don't think the content itself is strong enough to hold itself together from feeling like an annoying chore after night 2 or so, and the use of progressing difficulty reinforces my case. I'm alright with simplicity, I just wish I got something more substantial.

Underwhelming but far from unplayable.

Every game for this franchise runs out of steam in some way or level, but at least with 4, I'm more engaged with this type of gameplay format that's crucial in using your sound senses than I am with the formulated button-mashing ones from previous games - even though the sound mixing itself constantly trolls you lmao.

I also enjoyed the setting in this entry. Playing a traumatized child that could no longer find happiness or comfort in the things he once loved. Privacy doesn't exist anymore, not even in your room. Would you rather survive with continuous mental anguish or die from your demons?

Would've been the best and most refreshing FNAF game had the office gameplay not been so frustrating and luck-based (though part of that was on me buying the sponsorships, yet I found the tycoon minigames way more fun anyway). Oh well.

I've read Backloggd reviews here of SM64 that said they thought 70 stars to beat Bowser was a lil too much. Holy shit have they not tried Banjo Kazooie.

I remember watching YouTube vids of this back in 2014 and thinking it's super funny. I decided to try it out to see what it feels like, and it became quickly apparent that I'm eight years too late to the party.

Somewhat disappointed at the lack of true level/world diversity and super short runtime, but other than that a very fun and pleasant game that's better than SMB3 in every way. SM64 still remains supreme, though.

Yeah ok that was fucking dope. The euphoria I felt after completing the last boss. Thanks for the rec buttlet

2022

A solid OST, cool atmosphere, cuteness factor, and some decent environmental storytelling only occasionally help make the mediocre exploration/platform gameplay more digestible. A lackluster game that I only recommend getting when it's on sale if you're any interested.
