Heartbreaking: Guy Who Has 100 Odd Hours In Sonic Mania Couldn't Click With This Game
im so sorry this is so long
it genuinely sucks for me though im like so sad that i couldnt truly click with this game and fully enjoy it as a complete package, not a bad game at all by any means, maybe i chose the wrong platform to play it on as well? even with the newest patch to fix performance and bugs, i still got em, and the performance mode on switch did absolutely nothing for it, again its just hella heartbreaking.
I see the vision designing the game around the yoyo and having a twin stick style but Fuuuuucck either the camera is too close or its just a skill issue, i lose health and progress over lack of depth perception MULTIPLE TIMES, or that i want to do the rollout or boost but it doesnt pop even after multiple button presses or the level gimmicks hinder the main mechanics instead of benefitting them (especially in the desert world that was the lowest point in the game holy shit fuck quicksand and the golf bulls) and i cant lie, something not even the more critical reviews (least on yt) havent mentioned that the game just drags??????? like 3 or 4 worlds too many if you ask me, criminal that i want less game, but shit dude the base game really feels like half hit half miss, aand the bosses are also just, not the best, (especially the final boss, no impact at all in certain parts and frustrating as shit in other parts, if u kno u kno)
i know this is a lot but i really wanted to like this game, i wanna believe in Evening Star, and I'm more than willing to cut the gang some slack, this is their first original, not to mention 3d game, with a novel concept as well, didnt quite stick the landing personally, it's definitely clicking with other people and im really happy for them, otherwise twitter wouldnt have sauce and tech videos or enthusiasm by not only sonic fans, but platforming heads in general, im sure christian whitehead and the gang will hit it out the park next go around
and of COURSE the music cums too literally zero complaints over that thats for sure thank you tee lopes and friends
