this is the most confusing series I've ever played
good but not surprising
Even so, I will respect this work because it has one of my favorite themes in fiction, and all its drama is phenomenal
and great OP

THEY'RE COOKING.......... WHAT THE HELL ARE THEY COOKING..........

Common story, but the idea is brilliant. It has great potential to be something.
Yoko Shimomura 👏👏👏👏🙇‍♂️🙇‍♂️

the piss scene was so good I increased half a star

the japanese voice acting is insanely good btw God comfort the souls of those who played in english

I'll just give up. This game is a sad situation, everything is kinda nice, the soundtrack is very good, gameplay fine, art cool

but I better leave early before I travel to japan to attempt murder the writer, bro just ruined the feast
next time hire me tales staff please I would write a better story
even the guy who reviewed above me and the guy who reviewed below would write a better story

For the first time, I kneel for a Final Fantasy game.

FFX hadn't started well, but I didn't give up and continued playing. The protagonist's unique style made me interested. Slowly, as silly as it seemed, the game interested me in one thing or another until suddenly I was already halfway through it, when I looked back I noticed although its worldbuilding was nil, how much it had connected the story between its characters of the plot. What makes this JRPG different is that it's a story that seeks us to understand the characters there and feel each other, their connections. This was one of the only times I played a JRPG caring about the characters instead of the world of the plot.

Its only flaw was that the narrative is not polished enough and its artistic direction is not strong. FFX would be a monster if it weren't these two problems.

THIS IS UNEXPECTEDLY A VERY GOOD EXPERIENCE
DAMN EPIC SUSPENMSE

Even with this low rating, this game is sovl and was made with love. The gameplay deserves to be highly praised, a turn based inspired by the 90s style, it was supposed to be something limited to always the same thing, but the game presented fun and vigorous combat. The soundtrack was great, being one of the biggest points of the game alongside its artistic direction... and in the end, the biggest flaw of this work: the bland storytelling, villains, principles, characters and shallow plot, few dialogue, few build up... shallow in its essence. A game that could have been way, way, way better than it actually was.

Even though its thematic was awesome, it was a big lost of potential.

Yakuza 7 marks the decline of this series once for all, unbelievable. This game is on the same pedestal as Yakuza 3, F tier
Ryu Ga Gotoku's combat has become a generic's JRPG, all due to the insistence on wanting to be like Dragon Quest.

Several big franchises are reinventing themselves and trying to make new experiences for the players, and Yakuza, instead of also looking for a new experience for its players, decided to look for an already existing idea. In terms of being mediocre, this series will never disappoint me.

I don't want to go into details because I don't review spoilers but, in the narrative, this Yakuza returns with the flaws of the old games that were being fixed bit by bit, threwing it all down the sewer again.
Fire Emblem and Yakuza are two things from the same bag, two famous series but with a pitiful storytelling, it looks like it was written between 15yo high school classmates

The message it wanted to convey is beautiful, but its poor storytelling didn't help one bit and, finally, once again let's discard characters that are no longer useful to the plot, from the moment they regretted it and had nothing more to say, goodbye!! Suck my balls if it's exciting watching this same snowball for 7 games

This franchise once and for all doesn't know how to create heritage to its future games. If we look back we only have Majima (dude had only 1 game and was never important anymore), Saejima, Daigo, Kiryu and Haruka, the rest are tools that complement the plot. Even the ones who were left alive never appeared again, the form this series discard characters is appalling.

I think that once and for all I'm tired of Yakuza series, it's not worth my time anymore.
I'm sorry if I offended you, if you like Yakuza I have nothing against you, I'm just upset at the moment while my friends laugh at me behind my back because once again I decided to play an entire franchise and in the end it was just a mediocre juice
Several people asked me to play Lost Judgment but I don't want anything to do with Ryu ga Gotoku anymore, there's no salvation, forgive me

I'm fucking out

THE SONG OF LIFE............ THE END OF KIRYU SAGA.

the best game in the franchise. Yakuza 6 had a very interesting solid mystery, being its greatest point. Thank you for the journey, it's not an amazing series, but very worth a try. Let's continue into the new era.
The flaws remain, characters still die for nothing or are discarded and forgotten, but the mystery always remains interesting and it's emotional when it needs to be. The epilogue of this game was really AWESOME even though the final chapter was cringe af (they almost made a good game become mid, as expected of yakuza we can't underestimate what this series can do) the epilogue was really nice

fuck you yakuza series I would write a better story
why the hell are you distracted looking up in the picture kiryu get smart and save this franchise once for all

I give up, it won't be worth it. The story presents several interesting ideas, but the pacing is HORRIBLE, the lack of voice acting + audiovisual dynamics are extremely serious and the soundtrack is VERY poorly synchronized. I'm going to bet on the anime.

SURPRISED. Solid, well-written mystery. I definitely didn't know that Kaoru existed and that she was a well-written character. I wasn't expecting Kiwami 2 being that good. What makes this Yakuza probably the best yet is that it brings a heritage (finally).

destroys almost everything yakuza 0 did right
