bayonetta's sluttier big brother makes his big debut in a game that you can definitely tell used to be resident evil 4 at some point. it's a bit clunky, but still fun and worth playing. bro filled my dark heart with light.

a game about climbing and engaging in combat by becoming locked in an on-rails-shooter-like track where you can spin around in a circle repeatedly and nothing else. if that doesn't tickle your fancy, maybe a little bit of repetitive climbing and bland story will entice your palate? become enraptured as aloy appears in the story for about two minutes before disappearing, practically muttering "i don't even know why i'm here" as she goes!

i played this with my girlfriend watching via screenshare and trying desperately to steer me away from imminent dangers as i wandered headfirst into boss battles while largely unprepared. i call this playstyle "Dumbass and Navigator" and it increased my enjoyment immensely

while i'll always prefer the first psychonauts just due to it being the one i grew up with, psychonauts 2 is a marked improvement in every way. it's a dense and incredible platformer with incredible ideas and execution that sticks the landing, plus a story that was literally actually wonderful. the only problem with this game is that there isn't Another sequel or some DLC to follow it up so I could keep playing for like. ever.
