Went in with low expectations & it fully delivered. A complete mess of so many mishandled mature themes that it feels like they were trying desperately to form some greater meaning by just adding more trauma to the stew. We've got suicide, bullying, child neglect, alcoholism, envy, and so on, but the more that gets piled in, the more the game just loses any focus it had.

The game has you walking around collecting trigger warnings like Pokemon cards, and then occasionally has monster chase sequences where you've gotta run though some confusing hallways to your freedom. In the games' two hour runtime you have to do this five times.

The concept art and sound design is generally well done if a bit uninspired, and the phone notifications through controller speaker work in an effective way. But yeah it's one eye roll moment after the other, a game that wants to be dark and deep and affecting, thinking that just by mentioning things they're being profound.
