Something so simple that scratches a deep and specific itch. A must-play time killer.

Betrays what made the original games so good, but still a decent first-person shooter it you go in without expectations.

A combination of incredibly slow gameplay with a distinct lack of freedom to manipulate your island makes this fall so short for me. I just can't find the fun in it, even if I know where to look.

Riveting, emotional, and fun - this is how you make a slow-paced game.

An astonishing return-to-form for Resident Evil that came entirely out of left field. One of the best in the series for the survival, and the cream of the crop for the horror.

A gorgeous end to Kojima's Metal Gear saga, falling short only in how Konami prevented it from being finished. Still my favorite in the series to-date.

Gripping gameplay with a unique execution - Hotline Miami is a true classic.

The best beat-em-up of it's decade - accomplishes so much without stretching itself too thin. However, you'll still find yourself entertaining the annoying trappings of it's time.

A revolutionary first step for video games as an experience.

I don't like multiplayer shooters much, but Overwatch was something special. So many of the heroes could excell in their roles without the need for good aim or rapid movement, and that diversity of skill allowed for some incredibly fun matches.

Three Houses gripped me with interesting characters, an unique setting, and challenging gameplay. However, beyond face-value, it falls into the typical FE trappings of an overly complex conflict and hard-to-believe villains motivated only by "evil."

In adding so many more features on top of BotW's framework, TotK shatters the perfect gameplay loop that made the former so great. It's still a fantastic experience, but it doesn't live up to the legacy of it's predecessor.

A wonderful homage to SCP from an excellent studio. Gives you just enough to get you hooked, and lets your imagination fill in the rest.

No matter what I did, I couldn't find a way to enjoy the world of Horizon - high difficulties make Aloy's attacks feel like pebbles while the low ones lack any challenge. Combined with a story I just can't get invested in, Zero Dawn feels lackluster.

Doesn't hold up to RE2R in the slightest - lacks both the horror and pacing that make the former so good.
