I had a bugged copy where it had no random tripping and the character unlocks took literal years of me playing this game (subspace wouldn't work because fox was corrupted and would crash the game) but the tripping came back once sonic was unlocked. Moral of the story: Sonic The Hedgehog is the antichrist.
Masterpiece. That's all.
This game nails it in every department. Visuals, music, gameplay, multiplayer, replayability... More of everything: characters, maps, tunes, mechanics, modes. While keeping it's competitive side, this was the one Smash Bros title that really cared about single players with so many things to play around with. It will always keep you busy and having fun with it. We even finally get a proper long lengthed adventure mode with the legendary Subspace Emmisary campaign, that plays like an excellent 2D beat'em up/platformer.
It's clear Nintendo put a lot of care and a large budget in this game, and it shows. It's one of the most polished Nintendo games ever.

Greatest Smash single playerwise, obviously. Love the music, vibes, art style, it's super fun.
We know it's awful competitively and I won't pretend that isn't a problem, but this is still really damn good.
Kinda a shame after Melee's insane development time, this one having a more lax one made people look down on it.

Probably one of the best Smash Bros games of all time. The Subspace Emissary, while nothing grant to write about narratively, is still incredibly fun. All of the bosses and levels offer a great challenge in terms of navigating puzzles or fighting the grunt enemies, which comes in different shapes and sizes. My favorite part would probably have to be the Great Maze. Is it padding by reusing level assets? Yeah. Is it still fun to traverse and slowly unlock everything? Fuck yeah! Honestly, I know future Smash games are better mechanically, but you at. At least have to try the story. Trust me
