Nintendo could make a game about Popo and Nana losing their legs in a car accident, and it would still have better jumping control than this

i was too nice to space harrier II

beat the red falcon route on my last life and last continue. This game is fucked up but i still love it 💘

can't decide whats worse, 9-04 from Castlevania 3, or 6-2 from bloodlines

OH MY GOD I FUCKING DID IT. Even if i could only do the easiest route (route D) i'm still damn proud of myself. I was planning to just do route E and route D on the American version, then finish the rest on the Japanese version, but i've changed my mind. I won't let this game beat me.

Masterpiece btw

my favourite part about this game is when you score an in, but the game marks it as an out for no fucking reason

Decided to beat it again, this time i only got 2 game-overs, one on stage 16, and the other on dracula.

I cant believe it myself, on my 3rd play-through, i got through the first 15 stages without getting a single game over, i bet i could've finished with one game over if it wasn't for that goddamn third bat on stage 16.

This replay really cemented my love for this game. Damn near perfect

having to destroy 5 targets which you can only hit sometimes and only when you're jumping and aiming down while bugs crawl across the floor while 2 unkillable worms move around in an unpredictable pattern was a bit much tbh

I cant believe that people actually beat this game without a guide or map on the original sms. You mfs have wayy more patience than me

I have no clue whats happening, so that means the game sucks ass

Decently fun time, but once you know how to get past the screens (most of them are repeated) its gets boring. Really great effort from the atari tho

The greatest game on the NES imo. Literally flawless.

Yeah, I really do like this game more than mega man 4. It may be ugly and contains no music, but its an easy and short game. I think the best part is that its short, since the way I was playing (left hand on the arrow keys, right hand on space and j) any longer than 30 mins and I would've started developing carpal tunnel.

Voltman's stage can go suck my dick.

After playing through Rondo without save-states and adoring it, i decided to replay every Castlevania game without them, and imo, they're better without it.
I really think people overestimate this games difficulty, not only is it pretty easy once you understand the layout of the stages, the game is kind enough to give you 4 lives to tackle each one, which is more than enough. Hell, they even put a continue right on stage 18, so you don't have to redo the whole stage over again. Even harder parts like death's hallway can be easily bypassed with holy water.
Overall, great game. I would recommend playing this game with save-states first, but then replaying it without them after.
