I got this game for Christmas 94 and I go back to play it often. This game is fun, with awesome level design, fun bosses, great speed, crisp graphics, and an amazing soundtrack. With four different ways to play (Sonic & Tails, Knuckles, Sonic, and Tails) replayability is high! This game is classic. Go and enjoy it.

This game is rough. I played the original on the turbo grafx. It’s fantastic. Crisp graphics awesome music and it’s fun. This is not that. It’s a port. But a poorly done port. The sprite work is very beautiful. The soundtrack is ok. It’s snes versions of the games original soundtrack and they are alright. The backgrounds are ugly. The level layouts are hard but not because of challenge or clever layouts. It’s lazy slapped together and cheaply made. The hit detection is clunky when hit enemies. The knock back is horrendous for a Castlevania game, which is saying a lot. The last boss is one of the hardest cheapest things I have ever played and only because of cheap level design and crappy hit detection on the last boss. This game is not fun, good, or worth playing. Play the original.

I first played this game when I eight and have continued to go back and beat this game again and again. This game is one of my favorites. I absolutely love it. There is so much charm in the old n64 style each world feels unique and full of mystery. With much to explore and see this game always feel fresh. The music is great and Mario’s controls are excellent. They are so fluid and easy to use. As you master them you find yourself doing some amazing game breaking feats. Every time I hit the credits I find myself in an absolutes nostalgia fest full of manly tears. Mario 64 is a classic and it’s camera can feel dated leading to unnecessary deaths. But this is the pioneer of collectathons and open world platforming. Many have tried to get close to matching its greatness and yet still this game stands out as one of the best.

When this game was announced as a launch title, I was surprised to see no Mario and confused about what this game actually was. My step dad bought a game cubed and this came with it. We popped it in and I was surprised by what I was playing. A Nintendo horror game starring Mario characters. The atmosphere was eerie, the music added to the eerie tone very well. Equipped with your vacuum you must explore the mansion, find clues to the where abouts of Mario and save him. The game has a lot of charm and is quite fun. The bosses are fun and each mini boss ghost is unique in how you start the fight. It is on the short side but it has decent replay value. A solid first outting for the green plumber.

This game looked like Stardew Valley meets Pokémon ….we’ll… I guess it is lol
Which sounds fun on paper but it gets very boring and uninteresting very fast. Ooblets is a life sim where you move to an island, get a shack in the woods, and your very own monster. You farm crops and have dance battles with your monsters instead of your typical “Pokémon” battles. You do side quests, you do missions and develop friendships with the town folks. I love this stuff but this game ended up being so boring . Play Stardew Valley. Play Animal Crossing. Play Pokémon. But this game just isn’t that great unfortunately. I mean I was very excited to play his game for years and sadly it was not worth the wait.

I first played this game in 1997 when it first released. I periodically go back to it because it’s such fantastic game. The dialogue is corny but memorable. The level design is great and full of tiny little secrets that change the course of the game. The characters are likeable and the action never stops. The music gets me so into this game. I honestly love it. It’s a true classic. One of my favorite games of all time!

One of my favorites of the series bloodlines takes you out of Castlevania and across a post WW1 Europe. You journey as two Vampire hunters : John Morris and Eric Lecarde. John is your whip wielding hero and Eric uses a spear. John can feel sluggish and his whip is not great. However Eric is wonderful and the character you should play as. Each stage is beautiful and horrific. The character design is excellent and gruesome. The music is one of my favorite soundtracks of the Genesis era. This game is challenging and can be frustrating. The ending leaves much to be desired. But it’s so fun. That’s what I want most in game. Something fun and something that makes me want to play it again when it’s finish. Bloodlines has done this to me for the 25 years of my life.

Been playing Sonic since the Genesis days. Loved Sonic mania and honestly those games hold very well. I was really hoping they would make a Sonic Mania 2 and when I saw the trailer for this game and was really confused why they abandoned the 2d sprite work. The gameplay looked fine but the graphics didn’t look great. It’s 2d 3d but in some levels it’s hard to distinguish between what’s in the background and what’s actually part of the stage. The first half of the game is fun and has some really fun points. The later half of the levels feel clunky and cheap. There are many points where you run and a pit or one hit kill obstacle kills you out of nowhere.

Some of the bosses can be really tedious and boring. The bosses remind of the Sonic rush where you have to wait through a boss to cycle through a bunch of moves and then you can attack. So the bosses take for ever to beat. The special stages aren’t bad just feel kind of random on how you win.

The music slaps and then can be some of the most generic Sonic music I’ve heard since Sonic 4. The game became very tedious and unfun to the point where I got bored and quit. There is fun to be had but if a game isn’t catching your attention or is boring you then I’m not gonna waste my time.

Get it on sale. The game is not worth 60 bucks. Really wish they would’ve stuck with mania devs and made a sequel to one of the best Sonic games in years. Was a very odd choice and it shows.

Wow. This game is horrible. So I got this for Christmas 2003 and was excited. I love Megaman with the X series being my favorite. Megaman in 3d? I was stoked and after a couple hours I stopped playing it. I eventually picked it up again a year. You start as Zero and the run into new character Axl who can use a copy ability to become other reploids. But that takes forever and you need to do it to find some of the collectibles. X is playable but you unlock him half way through the game. At that point though it’s not worth using him. Along your journey you’ll collect power up Chips and by that point you will have used them to power up Zero and Axl making X useless. So to make this game more bearable the trick is to not power up Axl or zero. Unlock X. Power him up and get his armor. You will absolutely wipe the floor with this game it will be a tiny bit more playable. The bosses are not interesting (with a couple being ok)and obnoxious (Flame Hyenard). The levels are boring and most of that is due to how slow your characters move. It’s not a good game at all. You can skip this and play 8 and you’d be fine. This is a terrible game. It’s buggy clunky devoid of any charge and only has a couple of good music tracks. This is not a good game.

This a good game. Crash controls well. When I died it felt like it was my fault and not the game being cheap. The graphics look good on the switch and it runs well. No stuttering or laggy graphics. The game is tough. Like in my opinion really tough. There are a ton of gems to collect that unlock costumes but it sometimes doesn’t feel fun with how difficult it can be and I normally don’t get annoyed at games with a high difficulty curb. If you’ve never played crash it could be a rude awakening but if your a fan of the series hen check it out.

Honestly not the biggest Kirby fan. Love the character and love 64 and Super Star. I heard good things about this game! I didn’t play it on the 3ds and I heard they added some cool features to the switch version! So I boot it up and fell in love with it… for the first world. The music was catchy and I enjoyed having these super power ups that wipe a whole screen! It was fun! Then world 2 came and it was much of the same until the final couple worlds to be honest. The game went from fun to a slog really quick! I beat the game and unlocked extra mode and just couldn’t play it anymore. I know Kirby games are known for being very easy and this one is no exception. But I’ve played games that are easy but fun. I just didn’t have fun. Now the mini games they added were really fun!!! Kind of like the Pokémon stadium mini games. I loved the mini games and unlockable masks but that’s it. I regret playing this game as it feels like I wasted my time. As a man of 34 who loves games I’m learning to value my time. Play games that are good and don’t waste your time. I should’ve stopped playing the minute I stopped having fun. I’m honestly disappointed . Also this game is 60 bucks and I don’t think it’s worth that. It was 30 on the 3ds and I don’t see enough to justify a double price increase. If you can get this game for 30 bucks I’d say it’s worth it for the mini games. I don’t mean to be so negative I was just disappointed.

Classic Metroid is back and man was it fun. Lots to explore, fun boss battles, and overall challenging experience. The atmosphere each stage sets is amazing inviting to explore each and every nook and cranny. The enemy design is intimidating and creative. This game kicked my butt and few bosses made me want to smash my switch in half. But it never felt cheap. It beckoned me to want to challenge and win. The controls are great and fluid. The music is not too memorable or catchy which was a shock considering the previous games. All in all check it out if your a fan of Metroid or Metroid-vanias. If not, it’s still worth trying.

This game doesn’t hold up. I didn’t grow up wih it so I don’t hold nostalgia for it but in comparison to everything 64 and on it just doesn’t see, worth playing.

I was pleasantly surprised with this game. I played Bloodstained and thought it was ok. For context, I’m a huge Castlevania fan and love the series. I saw this was on sale and picked it up. It’s fun. I’ve longed for more of the old school Castlevania games and this game definitely scratches that itch. The sprite work is great, the characters control well and the levels are fun. The music bops but not as hard as Castlevania. This game is a prequel to Bloodstained and tells the story of the characters and how they met. If you love old school gaming or are a Castlevania fan , you’ll love it. If not, you might just think it’s ok.

What an absolute delight! Mario 3, Mario World, Mario land. All great games and some of the best in the 2d series. New Super Mario Bros. was our first 2d-3d Mario in years and it was fun. It was nice to go back to roots and have it be in 3d, especially in 2005 when all we had was 64 and sunshine.(Great games!) But then they kept making New Mario Bros. games and they became stale very quickly.

Then the trailer drops for this game and we have Mario as an elephant, berries that turn the world into trippy mini games, and a plethora of new ideas . We see loads of new mechanics new enemies and new character models! Finally, something new and exciting. I was all aboard the hype train and was not disappointed.

The game is fun. It’s the most fun I’ve had playing a game in a long time! The music is great. Level gimmicks are rarely reused and each level felt unique. Wonder berries are located in each level and they all have crazy effects. Again, rarely ever reused. They range from moving pipes, Mario transforming into various objects, and rhythm games? They are all fantastic! The bosses are ok and I wish I saw bigger and more creative ones. But the levels are so fun it didn’t bother me much.

There are 7 playable characters(more if you count palette swaps) and a plethora of new power ups. The elephant form is fun as run and knock out enemies with your trunk, the bubble for is similar to fire Mario instead using bubbles to make platforms and kill enemies and then there is drill Mario which can be used to find secret passages .

Nintendo listened to our criticisms and it’s a delight to see such creativity on display. This game is fun, full of surprises, great controls and is the most fun I’ve had playing a game in while. Difficulty is not the hardest. It has challenging moments (especially later) but it’s not Kirby easy. There are also a plethora of badges you can get that give you special moves that make the game fun or some times challenging. This game is great. If you like platformers, get it. If you like Mario, get it. If you have friends and family who love to play games, get it. It is excellent.
