NON-SPOILER REVIEW:
Gas from beginning to end. There's some questions left unanswered that even Harpocrates can't help to clarify. With all these mysteries, we better get some DLC. Other than that this lived up to my high expectations.

I don't really want to write a lengthy review until I've earned the Platinum trophy, but for now I'll point out a couple things:

-The biggest flaw of this game is the pacing, especially if you're someone who does side quests as they unlock through the story. It can oftentimes feel very abrupt when you go from the action packed, shonen spectacle, political drama of the main story, to the most mundane "go there and do this" shit ever. Most of them are fetch quest slop (as par for the course when it comes to CBU3 quest design). It isn't until the latter half of the game where side quests actually become good in both story and world building-wise. (you can honestly skip any quest you want, but please for the love of god do not skip the ones that are unlocked right before hitting endgame, these should be mandatory viewing IMO).

-Combat is probably the best in the series (even better than 7R imo). Some people think the combat is repetitive, but I honestly think a way to remedy that is to just try different playstyles. There's a whole buffet of Eikonic abilities so there should be no reason why you wouldn't just customize your loadout to something completely different if it starts feeling repetitious.

Time for the 2nd playthrough!

you really just had to be there...

they weren't lying that ending was peak

This review was written before the game released

I LOVE PSX IT'S SOOO RETRO IT MAKES ME KICK MY FEET SQUEAL IN DELIGHT! XD

i aint finished this yet but i already know its peak fiction

edit: It's peak

it's peak fiction and I'm dying on that hill.

Edit: Nvm it was at 4.5 stars before but I'm dropping it down to 3 until Sonic Team stops being retarded.

When I think about all my complaints, they're a lot like the ones I had for the Gravity Rush games:
- Great artstyle, setting and characters
- Boring story
- Ok combat.
- Gimmicks that sound great on paper but ultimately lack polish and are poorly executed. (Celestial brushes, Gravity Shifting)

Do I love aspects about this game? Absolutely. But the gameplay actively makes me dread playing it.

I played on original Switch hardware, not an emulator. After around 90(? I think. idk because it isn't showing an accurate playtime for me) hours, I've beaten and obtained the true ending of the game.

I'mma get the bad out of the way first and say that this game's performance on Switch is absolutely abysmal. The constant frame drops during any combat encounter or when you're building with Ultrahand is just sad to witness for a AAA game in 2023. People looking past the dogshit performance issues is crazy to me because it's one of the main reasons I'm not giving this game anything above 4 stars.

This game is everything that BotW is at it's core. The free-form exploration is still there alongside an entirely remixed Hyrule. The Sky Islands and the Depths are very neat editions, but Nintendo is actually sick in the head for promoting the sky islands so hard. It's the weakest of the three maps easily. The Depths stands out as both the most interesting and content rich area. I would elaborate, but it'd spoil the fun of y'all discovering the secrets and quirks spread throughout the whole game.

The story was alright. It's told in the same format of BotW's where 90% of the cutscenes are flashbacks. It's a little disappointing, but I don't really play Zelda games for good storytelling. It's all the most barebones shit anyways. I was just there to experience a hype asf confrontation with Ganondorf and man did they fucking deliver.

tl;dr Great game, that's held back by performance and a lot of the shitty baggage from BotW. The Ultrahand is also not very polished at all. Though at the end of the day, it's more BotW goodness.

Zero is the baddest bitch in the game. Y'all will see the vision soon enough. inshallah

After playin I'm unironically gassin this up.

Was reminiscing on some shit and remembered I traded in like 4 of my Wii games just to cop this shit and I'm still bitter about it so I'm dropping my rating to a half star. Actually lost 4 actually decent Wii games just for this mid ass snooze fest.
